Huge, huge game this week for the Vols. This is the first of the three games that scare me the most the rest of they way (S Carolina and Kentucky being the others).

Despite playing in Tuscaloosa, I think we should win this one. Bama's a better team this year than last, but they're still not that impressive. Keep up the solid tackling and strong play on the lines and we shouldn't have terrible trouble winning.

That said, I think Tennessee wins in a big time nailbiter.

i'm guessing PSU may be ranked this week, but i guess we'll see

They were close in the AP poll, they're 26th this week in that one.

Penn State is ranked in the coaches poll, 25th this week. They slipped in ahead of Michigan in that one.

Also, South Florida should totally be #1, and AZ State should be farther up. Both have much better resumes than the undefeateds ahead of them.

South Florida I agree with having a better resume but what makes ASU have such a good resume? I do think ASU should be ranked higher than they are but their resume isn't anything special.

I'm a little surprised that South Florida is so close to O$U. #14 and #15 is great :-)

Eh, it's more a matter of the discrepancy between BC and ASU than anything else. I admit that ASU hasn't faced tremendous comp. Although it'll be interesting to see how much they skyrocket if they beat Cal next week.

I see. And yes, it should be interesting with ASU the next two weeks. We're going to learn a lot about them just like we did with Kentucky the last two weeks and will next week when the host Florida. ASU hosts Cal and then travels to Oregon in the next two weeks.

If someone can go ahead and explain Michigan being ranked ahead of Illinois, I'd love to hear it.

AND WISCONSIN IN THE COACHES POLL??

You'll see why Michigan is ranked ahead of Illinois this coming weekend buddy. :getyou:

AND WISCONSIN IN THE COACHES POLL??

Michigan's won five straight and Illinois just lost to a team that had no Big Ten wins in a year.

And Michigan lost to a D2 school and their resume is nowhere close to being as good as Ilinois

It will look much better than Illinois after they beat them this week.

Is Ohio State the least inspiring No. 1 team in the last decade?

the maurice clarett team was completely uninspiring too, they won every game by about 3 points and were given major scares by mediocre teams like Purdue, Illinois and Cincinnati. Then they made the national championship game, did next to nothing on offense all game, and were saved by a bogus pass interference call.

but yeah this team is even less inspiring than that one.
