phil rogers says that both games at az will be at 9:30 ct(im guessing), that means 1030 pm for me yikes.

That can't be right. Chicago is such a huge market, there is no way they would start Playoff games that late. It'll hurt the ratings.

Seems right. Makes for a 7:30 start on the west. In terms of Chicago, I doubt they'll lose that much viewership to the late start. Nationally, they would, though.

Hah.. Hub Arkush thinks the Cubs are gonna have to carry all three catchers. Moron. I know you're a huge Cubs fan, Hub, but stick to football.

He also said it would be "sacrilege" to keep Marquis off the playoff roster (though he admitted it would probably be the right move). How is that anywhere near "sacrilege??"

I think sacrilege is just outside of Oswego which isn't really that far from Chicago.

I think Lou gave Blanco a chance at first and saw all he needed to see. If he has 3 catchers on the roster he better not need a guy off the bench because it would be one shallow one indeed. I hope that Lou is smarter than that.

how can lou be unhappy with marquis' performance(s), yet unconcerned? Don't they go hand-in-hand? Everything else seems about right though. Kinda surprised that Fuld, who was an underdog to even be called up in the first place, seems to be the first go to guy in an OF emergency. Guess there are no other options at this point.

He can be unhappy with his most recent performance because it was bad but unconcerned because Marquis won't be coming out of the pen in the playoffs.

I suppose, but it's not like he has been pitching well in his starts lately either. I would think some of the disappointment he showed in the dugout during marquis' bullpen outing was directly effected by his poor pitching overall lately. ESPN (consider the source) bottom line has game 3 starter as either Hill or Marquis. Surely Lou is not dumb enough to start Marquis for game 3 (or at all for that matter).

Hill will be starting game 3. The question is if Marquis will start game 4 or if it will be Z on 3 days rest.

It's not really a question anymore at this point. Lou was on the radio this morning and said he intends to go with the 3 man. He could always change his mind, though.

So how long into coverage/broadcast on TBS will they mention the following:

-$300 million

-Z's fight with Barrett

-Lou's ejection

Within the first 2 innings of game 1 is my bet.

Sucks that these games are on TBS (for obvious HD reasons).

Do we know when they are going to announce the time of the game?

tbs has hd... check with your service provider

Checked with Cox Cable - they are adding TBS HD as of October 2!

pre-game show

Curse, Bartman, and $300 million all mentioned within the first 5 minutes of the first broadcast. Fight with Barrett and Lou's ejection may take another 10 to 30 minutes.

lou's tirade will be very early (in the opening package before you even see the announcers). something to the effect of "The Cubs struggled early, but fiery manager Lou Piniella's tirade on June 3 turned this into a team of destiny." followed shortly after by Bartman

That's a nice new hat that you got going on there, Cubman.

9:00 CDT??? That's ridiculous. Change the game time MLB, that doesn't fit my schedule! Court on Thursday early morning is going to suck balls.

Matchup looks a lot better for Zambrano if you take out Tracy who is on the DL, Robby Hammock and Doug Davis, who won't play.

Wait....the Cubs are in the playoffs?

...

I'm confused.

Why am I not surprised that M. Prior would have no clue what is going on with the big club.

Keep throwing the towel, M. See you next year!

I kid, I kid.

Regarding TBS in HD for Comcast subscribers, things are not looking good:

http://consumerist.com/consumer/bartman-not-invited-this-time/hey-comcast-cubs-fans-want-tbs-in-hd-right-now-305309.php

Comcast will add TBS HD to their line-up in Boston Tuesday, a day before Major League Baseball's playoffs start, but Chicago isn't getting the same treatment according to reader Daniel.

I can't stand Comcast. Horrible company. If they don't add TBS HD before the Cubs game on Wednesday I'm going to be pretty unhappy.

Get ready to see goats running across your screen at every break in the action. You know the networks will do everything they can to play up the curse.

Stupid network idiots.
