I'm not too concerned about it not happening. Particularly with the schedule the Cubs have ahead of them. If it doesn't happen, it would be epic, and pretty much unprecedented since the start of this playoff format.

The Cubs control their own destiny now. Sure, technically they did two or three weeks ago when technically, winning out would have ensured at least a tie, but the Brewers and their performance was entirely relevant to the race.

 

Now the Cubs control their own destiny in that they have entered a playoff-like situation where nothing in the world matters that isn't right in front of them. The Brewers going undefeated the rest of the season shouldn't matter anymore like it would have two weeks ago. If the Cubs can manage to go 2-4, their chances of backing in are still good, but their days of smiling when the Brewers' opponent posts a 4-spot have to be over now.

 

I'm actually kind of glad that they're on the road now and will be away from the tension and readiness to panic that the fans and media will (justifiably) have this week.
