A quick look at ebay and craigslist this morning shows the secondary market looking like this:

SRO: ~$150

Bleachers: $250-$350 (vast majority are at $300 or above)

200s outfield back rows: $300-$350

500s: $300-$375

Sweet Jeebus

This makes it unbelievably tempting to reduce the number of people I'm bringing down to one, then selling off the other two to pay for my plane ticket and two days' worth of beer.

Those prices will only go up as the cubs clinch and we find out who they play and when.

Not necessarily. People who are willing to pay those prices are paying them now. If people who are thinking of selling flood the market with more tickets, it's possible some may be found for a little cheaper. Of course, the prices could jump some as the match-ups become final and fans of the opposing team decide to make the trip and buy tickets.

I think the prices would be highest now as fans who were relying on getting tickets via the Cubs are now desperate to snatch up whatever they can. That and the fact that the Cubs had an awesome weekend that seeminly assures them of a playoff spot (as a fan I can't believe that yet), and the initial demand will be sky high.

Eventually, the market will even itself out and will bottom out until about 1-2 days prior to the events when they will jump sharply again.

That's what I'm thinking as well. I'm keeping my eye on it as I'm trying to grab a ticket or two for the game three. Thanks to Mark_R again for my ticket to game 2.

Has anyone got an official word on how refunds will work if needed?

I have print at home tickets, and say game 4 doesn't take place or for some damn reason the cubs falter how refunds will work for all games?

I have an email pending but thought I would ask here as well.

Just talked to them and if for some reason you need a refund, it will automatically just be refunded back to the credit card that was used to order the tickets. These were for print at home tickets by the way.

i'm too lazy to find this but how will the nlds work. Will they play Wednesday/Thursday, off day Friday, then Saturday/Sunday (if necessary) then off day and Game 5 Monday (if necessary)?

If you purchased 4 tickets split between 2 orders (2 and then 15 minutes later 2 again), will they cancel? It says you can purchase 1 order of up to 4 so technically I ordered 2 orders of a total of 4.

I'd call on Monday. Ticketmaster's ticket limits would be fine with that, but I'm not sure about the Cubs. However, they don't cancel both orders if you go over the limit for the regular season and I'd doubt they'd do that for the playoffs. At worst they should cancel your second order and let you keep the first. But give them a call on Monday.

So the person I talked to said that they will cancel one of my orders. Said he doesn't know which order and that they won't tell me which order. The only way to find out is to try using them or call the day before the game and then they might tell me. Damn...this sucks. If my 200 level seats get cancelled, I'm gonna be pissed.

They must be too busy right now, but it's pretty ridiculous. I'd try again tomorrow. Either way, though, the orders will have been processed by the end of the week, so there's no reason they wouldn't know by Monday.

Holy crap! I sold a pair of tickets in section 204 for $400 and thought I did really well. I should've held out! Oh well, can't complain too much about spending $80 dollars on two tickets and selling them for 5 times that.

Yeah, the guy seemed really rushed and not too helpful. I sent an email and I'll probably try calling again in a day or two.

had you been charged for them? I verified that my order when through over the phone today.

Yeah...looking at those prices, it appears I'm going to be watching these on TV. That's cool and all as well.

C'mon guys. For those of you who have more tickets than you need, sell one of them to Vance for what you paid. If anybody deserves to get tickets, it's him. I would much rather a real fan get to go to a game than a bandwagoner with deep pockets. Help this man out!

I think vance has tickets to one of the games already.

Thanks to Mark_R, I'm finally going to Wrigley.

Finally.

Game 4 had better happen.

My thanks to Mark as well!

Now, I need to get me a seat to game one. If not, I'll be packed in at the knot hole!

Yep! Thanks to Mark_R, I'm good to go. Booked a plane ticket last night!

Glad to hear it! Now if only someone could do the same for me.....

Any chance these tickets might free up during the week due to cancellations and such?

Last year I tried to get Tiger World Series tickets that way after an article in the Free Press said that those things happen. Several times during the day I tried and it wouldn't let me in (said "sold out") but one time much later I got in but when I tried to purchase best available it said there weren't tickets available in that section. There might have been a single, but I don't remeber if I tried since my goal was to take my son.

I noticed that all of the games are on tbs.. I can't remember how it worked in the past.. Will most of the games be afternoon in the nlds or at night?? is there any way of knowing this ahead of time or not until the season ends?

I haven't seen anything, so this guess is pretty much fresh outta my donkey, but I don't imagine they'd try filling the current playoff game slots with specific teams until after the matchups are set in stone and everyone has played their 162nd (or 163rd) game.

I'd assume that the Cubs would get the prime time time slots because they're, well, the Cubs, and they're not in the playoffs often and they're a big draw.

Of course, New York is New York, so they might get the prime time slot, although I'd assume that the Cubs are a better draw nationally than the Mets.

This could all be moot if the NLDS is Cubs/Mets (if the Phillies take the WC), in which case, that series for sure would get the prime time slot.

I believe, in the event of the playoffs, we'd be competing with a Yankees series and a Red Sox series as well for coverage. Fox is having a wet dream right now drawing up their Red Sox/Yankees Cubs/Mets Championship serieses.

They're also dry heaving over Rockies/Diamondbacks and Angels/Indians

Yeah, it was all prime time in 2003 (NLDS and NLCS), in 1998 only game 1 was during the afternoon but game 2 (screw you Javy Lopez) and 3 were prime time.

Unfortunately for Fox, they won't have any piece of the Cubs until the World Series. TBS has the entire NL playoffs.

Will ALDS/ALCS games be going on at the same time as NLDS/NLCS games?

It'd be odd if TBS put the Cubs up against Fox's best AL matchup to compete for viewers. It would make more sense to stagger the game days as much as possible.

In 2003, I remember the Yankees being quite upset because one of their divisional series games was played during the day in favor of the Cubs playing in prime time.

Of course, that changes now with the TBS deal. I wouldn't worry too much about the Cubs having to play during the day, though.

Yea, in 2003, I only remember two day playoff games. Game 4 of the NLDS, and Game 5 of the NLCS.

According to Tickets.com, tickets will be delivered by FedEx on Thursday afternoon.
