Good RH power threat off the bench, something we've been lacking all year. We likely won't be giving up anything significant. Nice addition.

It's always fun to have a guy who is a legit threat to hit a HR off the bench, and nothing more. But he hasn't been able to do anything against RHP this year. Need to keep his playing time very limited.

DO you think Lou will be limiting his playing time? I see him filling in for Floyd & Murton a lot more. Which is terrible. Lou may even try to play him in CF.

See you in a few weeks Fox or Pie.

You knew as soon as he was DFA'd by the Tigers that he was on his way to Chicago. If he's used only as a RH power bat off the bench with starts against lefties, then I don't mind this.

Least we did something finally?

Can't complain if he only plays against lefties:

.302/.317/.542/.859 against lefties

.190/.244/.309/.552 against righties

I thought we had this guy, his name is Jacque Jones...

What a stupid post.

Its stupid to think Jacque and Monroe are similar? Or that the trade is pointless?

Jones is useful against 75% of MLB pitchers and can play a credible CF.

Monroe is useful against 25% of MLB pitchers and isn't a realistic option in CF.

Who didn't see this coming?

how is this bad? He's a right handed bat with power (would be in 4th place on the Cubs in HR) who can hit LHP.

We gave up nothing.

Did I say if it was bad or good? It was obvious Hendry was gunning for him for a while now. I actually like the move as a platoon or bench player against lefties. He's much better than Fox btw, who looked abysmal last night.

Oh I misinterpreted the "tone" of your first post. My bad!
