Since you got some 1AA teams in there what about UNI (Northern Iowa) vs. Minnesota State. Thursday August 30th at 7:05pm. Also isn't Clemson playing Florida State on Labor day?

After this weekend only one more weekend until CFB is here.

Go Iowa

Go UNI

and To a much smaller degree go South Carolina

You got it, I'll stick UNI in now.

As for the Labor Day games, I'm counting those as being the following week, so they'll go in the thread I post on Sunday Sept. 2nd (when the new AP rankings come out).

I'm loving LSU at the number two spot.

Geaux Tigers!

LSU needs to take advantage this year, cause Florida is going to be damn good next year and the year after.

The UC Davis game is at noon and I'm really looking forward to the first game in the new stadium. I went on a stadium tour with the media yesterday and it looks very nice.

There's really a Minnesota State University? Who took over for Hayden Fox?

I fully expect Missouri to destroy U of I. Now I await the complete overtake of Illinois preseason optimism. :D

Illinois 24

Mizzou 7

Nice that it's on national TV, not nice that it's on the same time as ND/GT

If Mizzou scores only 7 points against Illinois and Daniel isn't in the hospital, then I give up college football.

well said. frankly if we dont average 35 a game this year ill be pretty surprised.

As a Hogs fan, this year scares the poop out of me. To much potential coupled with so many question marks. Hopefully either experience, system, or greater physical skill prevents them from getting Dicked around at QB. Monk's out for a while. Hopefully they won't need him against 'Bama, because that's a really dangerous game. I think the line will be fine--it usually is, and the best lineman they had plays Center and returns. I also think having a healthy Peyton Hillis will make a big difference in the passing game, as he was sorely missed down the stretch last season. As for the D, Jamaal Anderson, Sam Olajubutu, and Chris Houston will be tough to replace, as will Keith Jackson Jr. But they've got a great deal of depth returning on the line, so while they may not be as strong, they won't likely fall off tremendously. Hopefully Antwain Robinson has stepped up his game and is ready to become a real primetime player on one end. At LB, having Fairchild back should help with teh loss of Sammy, but he's got big shoes to fill. He's the most athletically gifted LB they've had in years, though. Michael Grant returns after a torn ACL to take over at S or possibly even CB if needed. I like Norton and Richardson at the corners, though I think they're both #2 guys. Here's hoping one of them steps up. All in all, it's a defense that could be near the top of the league or around the middle of the pack, depending on health and the development at a few key positions.

I can't really begin to predict a finish. 8-4 should be the abosolute worst they shouold do, but think the team is capable of 10-12 wins with their schedule. With the question marks, though, it makes it hard to pick them certainly at Alabama, hosting Kentucky (especially if Monk is still out), hosting Auburn, at Tennessee, or especially at LSU. What I really want to see is the Hogs use their non-conference schedule to really work on exploring the passing game. Other than Troy, none of the other teams are even vaguely a threat, so get your QBs some extra reps in those games!

Babbling over.

I should be in STL for the Illinois-Mizzou game. Should be a good one.

Hopefully NIU can keep it respectable against Iowa and SIU should be able to beat Quincy (whoever the hell that is) by 60 or so.
