a platoon of murton/jones in RF

At this point I just want them to send Jones to the moon. He doesn't hit for power any more so he's completely worthless.

well, right...i don't think many people disagree with you, but for that to happen we are going to need a nice (very lucky) waiver wire acquisition...

I get the distinct feeling that Lou might be real close to seeing what someone like Gallagher would do in the rotation.

Which would be stupid (though Lou seems to have a flair for overreacting - i.e. Dempster to the rotation for 5 minutes). Gallagher (nor Mateo) can outperform the 3 guys at the back of the rotation right now.

guzman could...how long until he is healthy...any time in the near future?

He had a set back in Mesa, he's not going to be ready till at least rosters expand.

Damn, that guy can't buy a break.

August 31st is the last day you can add a player to your roster and have them be eligible for the post season, unless in the case of an injury. (ie if Ward doesn't come back until mid September, he'd still be eligible for the playoff team)

I'd hardly say that my concern is reactionary based on today's performance. Hill, Marshall and Marquis have all been inconsistent.

I have a lot of confidence in this team making the post season. Once there I think they will struggle. I'm not trying to rain on anyone's parade I'd just like to see them have a solid chance at advancing and not just make an appearance in the playoffs.

How is Marshall inconsistent?

OK, I guess he has yet to prove a leaning towards inconsistency and if the playoffs started today I would slot him as the #3 starter. I'm still not comfortable with that.

Pirates have the winning run on base with the offensive force that is cesar izturis at the plate!!!!

lol...we can't forget that he did deliver a win for us earlier this year...

Why? 2 bad outings all year.

I'd love for you to bring some facts with you to prove Marshall's inconsistency. It'd be fun to watch you try to prove it.

It's be fun to watch you not be a jerk.

i don't get why people are so uncomfortable with the back of the rotation, but aren't concerned that the offense regularly has jones, floyd, kendall/k. hill and theriot in it.
