i said that because Barrett has been brutal for the Padres (236/236(!)/303). He's had a Jock-esque nosedive from his 2006 numbers.

I missed this post. Wasn't trying to be a jerk, I honestly would have fun watching you attempt to prove that Marshall has been inconsistent for us this season. Since you made the statement (Twice, I believe) I don't think it's too much to ask for you to prove it.

How is Marshall inconsistent?

 

OK, I guess he has yet to prove a leaning towards inconsistency and if the playoffs started today I would slot him as the #3 starter. I'm still not comfortable with that.

 

Why? 2 bad outings all year.

 

I'm not saying the guy is a bad pitcher. I'm just not confident that he is enough to round out the back end of a playoff rotation. Especially when they will probably need four starters. Then they'll have to roll the dice with Hill or Marquis.

 

Come on...Anthony Reyes and Adam Wainwright did just fine.

 

Hey, if you guys are content with what we have that's great. I'm not and hope everyone else is right. I would love to see this rotation as it is be lights out in the playoffs and carry them to a World Series.

Online box score shows Marshall with all 7 ER. Didn't a run score on an error? Just trying to figure it out. Meanwhile, I don't see for the life of me why Clemens was given only 3 ER, when the error in that game came with only one out and didn't have any affect on the next 5 runs really.

 

I can never figure out how ERs are scored.

Anytime Clemens is involved, you have the possibility of the scorer just being wrong to help out the rocket. Just like the homeplate ump does with the strikezone.
