while playing Kasper's call (bad broadcast voice by the way)
Thank You for saying this!!!

I thought that my friends and I were the only ones who could not stand Kasper. Infact, 2 of my friends who were in this discussion are cubs fans and they both said that they can not stand him. He's not bad when he is just talking normally and he is actually a good play by play guy, I mean, he is on top of things and does have a pretty good knowledge of the game (for a guy who has never played). But when he gets excited and yells, it is HORRIBLE! It actually makes my ears hurt! I don't understand why ANYONE would want to use his "excited calls" in their shows, it is really bad.

Like I said, he is actually pretty good when he is just calling the game, and I think that Bob Brennly is pretty good as well. But when Kasper gets "excited", he may have one of the most annoying voices EVER!

I lol'ed

I am looking through this forum and I have heard a lot of Sox fans talk about how much the Cubs talk about the Sox more than they talk about the Cubs but obviously they have never been on this forum.

Every topic seems to be about the Cubs now that they are out.

Gotta love those wsox fans. Anything anti-Cubs.

Criticize the Cubs for Len's annoying voice yet completely ignore the hick homer Hawk Harrelson.

Yep, you gotta love em.

Here's a post I've been disputing fron a White Sox fan on another forum:

And this is why people The Cubs haven't won anything in 99 years. They lack "grapefruits". They don't take risks. Plus whoever they trade for, has to be a FA at the end of the season because they can't add payroll for next year until the team is bought. This makes sense. You get a veteran lead off hitter, so they can move Soriano to the 5th spot. They can always bring Pie up and put him in late in the game as a defensive replacement. Jones might be moved for Dunn, along with Gallagher and someone else.

CF Podsednik

2B DeRosa

1B Lee

3B Ramirez

LF Soriano

RF Dunn

C Kendall

SS Theroit

P Zambrano/Hill/Marshall/Marquis/Lilly

Bench: Pie, Hill or Blanco, Fontenot, Floyd or Ward, Cedano

What is wrong with that line-up? That's a solid line-up from top to bottom (as long as Kendall can hit). You have guys with speed, power and guys who can make contact. And the bench would be nice. All you have to do now is upgrade your bullpen a bit.

As a Sox fan, I love love love Len Kasper. I think he's a great announcer. As much as I hate Hawk and his lack of knowledge, some of his 9th inning calls give me goosebumps. He's nostalgic I guess, it brings me back to when I was 9-10.

Why do white sox fans love Scott Podsednik so much?

It makes no sense.

He's almost as bad as Pierre, but for some reason Sox fans think him a key cog in their lineup.

I have a few friends who are Sox fans, and they can't stand Pods...

Why do we care what White Sox fans think?

It's not so much 'care', it's more like it's just entertaining to see them attempt to piece together sentences in some sort of logical fashion.

I actually really like Len. I think our broadcasters, both TV and radio, are two of the best around.

OK, maybe not Ron Santo. But it's hard not to love Ron Santo. But...he'd make a better Official Team Cheerleader than broadcaster.

Hearing Cory Provus the last few games has really made me miss Pat Hughes. We should consider ourselves extremely lucky to have a great announcer like Hughes.

Yeah, he's definitely my favorite of the bunch. As upset as I get when I can't watch Saturday games because of that ridiculous blackout rule...getting to hear Pat call a game makes it a little bit better.

Len does revert back to puberty when he's calling a big play. It's kind of jarring on the ears, but he's a smart, well-informed announcer who does a good job overall.

The one aspect where Chip really had Len beat. Chip could call a big play. Fortunately, I don't rely on the anncr to get me excited.
