Could this be step one towards rebuilding that organization. I want Griffey!

If Griffey was traded to the Cubs this week, would the NL have to drop a player from the all-star team in order to take a Red currently on the team?

I wouldn't think to hard about it since it probably won't happen, but I could see Lee getting booted off since he was the player vote.

Nope, the Reds just wouldn't have a rep.

Or they could easiely just drop Fuentes and add like Aaron Harang 8-2 3.80 era 100 strikeouts 1.18 whip for a cinci pitcher thats pretty good.

Reds won't get anywhere without upping payroll, getting a new GM and quitting the practice of changing managers every 18 months or so.

We have a $70 million payroll. It's not great, but it's not awful either.

Narron needed to be fired about a month ago. It's about time. He was by far the worst manaer in baseball.

I highly doubt the Reds would trade Griffey when he is chasing down 600 and will likely be the teams only draw in August and September. Next year is more likely the year he gets dealt.

Dunn, on the other hand, will probably be delt. Same goes with Hatteberg, Conine, Weathers, and maybe a few others.

Buddy Bell, Grady Little, Clint Hurdle.

Buddy Bell does a pretty nice job of keeping pitch counts down. He hurts his team's chances at scoring runs, but at least he isn't sabotaging them down the road. He's a decent enough placeholder.

As such, I expect the Cubs to hire him in some capacity soon.

Yeah, but you have to admit that it's kind of funny that the GM of the Reds has the audacity to fire the manager when he should have fired himself first.

Reading some media out of Cincinnati. They speculate that the Reds could look at Brenly, but only after the season.

If I remember correctly, Brenly signed a 3 year broadcasting deal. This is his third year.

 I love Len-Bob broadcasting team.

I think Brenly enjoys what he is doing, especially with his son being in collge and having the ability to see many of his games in the spring. But I have also always thought that he would like to manage again at some point.

Wow. They'd quickly become my least favorite team ever.

XM Home Plate is running an Update blurb saying that Girardi's agent won't comment on rumors that he interviewed for the job. Nothing beyond that or on the timing of the interview (if there is/was one).

no offense to reds fans, but i don't think anything can save them for the forseeable future.

i hope brenly stays.
