Well, Aram hasn't pinch hit or anything, has he?

So that would mean this can be retroactive back a few days, right?

Did they move him to the DL just to accomodate Floyd so they wouldn't have to move anyone down?

This sucks for one of my fantasy teams... Upton's likely going to the DL, too. :x

Crap. So I guess that means that Pagan, Koyie Hill, and Izturis are all still on the team.

Get healthy soon, ARAM.

We have 5 infielders (Derosa, Izterrible, Theriot, Fontenot, Lee) and 6 outfielders. (Soriano, Pie, Floyd, Jones, Murton, Pagan) :?

And at least 2 of those IFs could play OF, and have started there this year. One of the OF can play IF, and that's in an extreme emergency.

Well, this sucks that ARam has to go to the DL but at least they don't pull a Soriano II and have him sitting on the bench not playing for a while.

They were already pretty much there. Soriano pinch-hit on his 6th game gone. Aramis has already missed 4 games, so he would have had to pinch-hit tomorrow and start Wednesday to come back even as fast as Soriano did.

I kind of expected this from the beginning-the way they were saying that he might play Tuesday or Wednesday on Friday and Saturday just told me they weren't very confident in his return. It's better to be conservative with him though rather than have him come back and get hurt again.

This is going to be interesting-there's quite a potential for Ward, Blanco, and Ramirez to come back around the same time-there will be some roster decisions to be made by then.

Probably lots went into this. Floyd was coming back, so a roster move was needed. Lou hasn't gotten a long enough look at Fontenot, and Jim hasn't moved Jones yet.

If they knew Ramirez would be 3-5 more games minimum, this move makes a lot of sense.

Or Pagan could go...he is the next one to go...

If they hope to not waste the value of Matt Murton, I think they should option him to AAA so he can play everyday and get back on track. Pagan can backup Pie in CF. Murton can come back if/when Jones is gone, or they could build up his trade value and get something for him. Murton as the 6th OF just isn't good for anybody.

This sucks. When will he be eligible to come off?

Ramirez, batting .299 with 13 homers and 39 RBIs, has tendinitis in his left knee. He was hurt running to first base in a game at Milwaukee on June 6 and was placed on the DL retroactive to June 7.

"Our doctors felt that just putting him on the DL and giving him full rest and treatment would be the best for the player," manager Lou Piniella said

Agreed, when Aramis comes back,

Fontenot should stay,

Pagan go down, and

Izturis to baseball limbo.

Either move JJ or MM when ARam comes back or send Murton down. MM is beyond useless in RF and on the basepaths.
