    I'm looking to buy tickets on http://www.ticketliquidator.com and they have random prices on there. might want to try that. Don't know how reputable it is though. I was planning on buying really expensive close to field seats for Cubs/Cards Friday August 17th from there.

    Hmmmmm... a guy who has a 1.29ERA, 1.04WHIP, and 29K's in 21IP and is making league minimum INCLUDING a lesser prospect, for a guy who is making $6.5 million and is hitting .239 with 3HR and an OPS+ of 89 (.706OPS) who has some slight injury issues and is over the hill for a catcher? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm..... I don't know. That is a tough one

    I'm guessing they were keepers from last year. My question is, how on earth have you not made this trade yet? Your offense is stacked without Pujols and Mauer. Your pitching is kinda weak right now. If you add Santana and Peavy you'll have one of the best rotations in your league. Adding Crawford will give you decent power and lots of SB's, which you lack. Trading Pujols is a big deal, yeah, but your offense is still good without him, and if you do trade him, you should trade him for no more than someone like Johan Santana, except in this deal, you're also getting a pitcher who is pitching better than anyone else on earth, as well as one of the best all-around outfielders in the league, essentially in exchange for Santana, cause Mauer's numbers are decent for a catcher, but rather weak this year, and Cain is crap this year in the w-l department, which sucks cause his ERA/WHIP is decent. Not only do you do this trade, but you do it with a quickness no one has ever seen before

    Not with all the walks he'll draw. I have a feeling a lot of pitchers will walk him more and more as he gets closer to the record, just so they won't be the team or the pitcher who gives up that acheivement

    I feel the same way. Retire while you can still leave somewhat gracefully. Don't become Rickey Henderson. Go out on a high note. I don't care what anyone says, Henderson was the man. The dude was playing minor leaguer ball up until what... 2-3 years ago? He obviously doesn't care about going out on a down note. If you love to play the game, you love to play the game, and if you're willing to sacrifice the pinnacle of all your acheivements just to keep playing, then that's just respectful in my eyes Congrats, Craig! You deserve it.

    I think he goes to the Hall. Dh or not, that .985 career OPS is hard to ignore. It's a lot better than Molitor and Edgar Martinez, who were notorious for their DH'ing

    Gah, isn't it enough that we helped Sosa reach 600 and McGuire reach 62. I mean how much more can we be expected to do for baseball? Considering Sosa is only guaranteed $500,000, and he leads his team in RBI and is 2nd in HR, I'd say Sosa isn't exactly a bust yet. Yeah, his OBP/OPS isn't spectacular, but who else are you gonna put in that DH spot in Texas? Or their prospects? 7 of their top 10 prospects are pitchers, and I can think of a handful of other guys on that team who deserve to be sent down/DFA'd while one of the prospects get called up who aren't named Sammy Sosa, namely their entire starting rotation

    I'll help you out, Lou - he's not a good baseball player. I don't know about you guys, but I've got a feeling Jacque is going to have some nasty things to say about the organization on his way out. Organization, perhaps. Fans, you betcha. I bet he hates the fans, and quite honestly, I don't blame him. Not the boo-birds who boo when he messed up, but the ones who shouted racist remarks and such

    Did you ever consider some of the posters here don't get on daily or even weekly to know this was discussed a while back? And with as much volume there is on this board, it's rather difficult to read several pages of topics with many threads approaching 100 or more entries. You certainly weren't required to read this thread or even post a reply for that matter. But thanks for the input.

    nope. they have a humidor now that keeps control of the situation. really bottomed the stats out. not really. it's still the 4th best park for hitters in the majors. Have the homers dropped though?

    Bowen's got some pretty good patience. He hasn't hit like a rock star but he's shown a lot of good patience.

    If I'm not mistaken, he hasn't had an off-the-field or an on-the-field problem since he was with the Dodgers 2 years ago, unless I missed something after that

    Barrett also wasn't really boo'd by the fans, nor did the fans really hate him. The management wanted to get rid of him. A lot of fans did as well, myself included, but he didn't hear it on the field as much as someone like Izturis or Jones do. People wanted Barrett traded, but they didn't want to have them hung from the gallows (i.e. Jacque Jones 2006, Corey Patterson 2005)

    One, the Dodgers said they won't move Billingsley. And two, we don't need to trade Lee. We had a discussion about this what... 2 weeks ago? The idea that we should get an impact bat for Derrek Lee is [expletive]. Lee IS an impact bat. Sure he doesn't have the HR totals, but his OPS is outstanding considering. Trading an impact bat for an impact bat is pointless. You don't trade a great bat for something that does the same thing. If you trade someone like Lee, you trade him because you need to fill holes that are in dire need of replacing. We need a SS, a RF, and to a lesser extent one more good starter/reliever. On top of that, you only trade Lee if you have someone who can fill his void in 1B, which we don't have. Fill a hole by creating another one doesn't exactly seem like a smart move. Plus, he DOES have a NTC
