  1. didn't find a video, but found this: http://bp1.blogger.com/_--E53Za_tlE/RlMEQ3Ql4rI/AAAAAAAAAC8/uEc3sovpZZE/s1600/Dawson.jpg Best I could do. I also found out/didn't know, that Eric Show died in 1994 from an overdose in a rehab clinic when he took a speedball. Classy dude
  2. "Pledge Your Allegiance" is god awful. That sounds like a slogan they'd use for "Live Free or Die Hard" before they'd fire the guy who came up with it
  3. $12.5 mil through '08, $16.5 mil club option in '09 ($4 mil buyout). So he'd be roughly $18 mil through '08 it seems. I thought for sure I saw somewhere that Griffey's contract was deferred and that he'd be getting paid yearly all the way through 2024. Oh yeah, I'm [expletive], didn't bother reading beyond the yearly amounts, haha...

  5. I like Sean Marshall... but I like Griffey more. Yeah, he's an injury risk, but when he's not injured he's still one of the best offensive forces in the game. Soriano, Lee, Griffey, and Ramirez would be ridiculous, and complement it with Theriot, Fontenot, Pie, and Barrett (if he isn't traded) would be really impressive
  6. Tulowitzki has been awful this year, granted he has big upside. Theriot and Tulowitzki have virtually been the same plyer, except Tulowitzki has hit a couple more dingers and Theriot has stolen more bases. Adding Tulowitzki would be a wash with the way he's playing right now, we might as well keep Theirot at SS and Fontenot at 2B. Plus if we trade Barrett we need a bat to supplement the loss of power from his position, and Hawpe fits the bill as well as the debacle in RF, and I'd miuch rather have Hawpe and his 139OPS+ over Tulowitzki's 84OPS+ Considering Tulowitzki was called up last season, the Cubs would have him under their control for a considerable amount of time. He also skipped AAA altogether, so some of his development time went flying out the window. He'll get better with time. I'd do Jones + Barrett for Tulo in a heartbeat. However, something tells me that's not going to happen. The Rockies have a pretty good system talent-wise, although many of them have been struggling or putting up unimpressive numbers on the season with a few exceptions (Greg Reynolds). Plus, the team has shown a complete blasé attitude about throwing around cash towards players who don't deserve it...so something tells me money wouldn't be a factor in terms of acquiring talent. I think they'd make a good trade partner. Franklin Morales, please. I think he might be hurt right now, though. Morales or Tulowitski would be nice, but there's zero chance of it happening. Yeah, as nice as adding Tulo would be, he is their #1 prospect and I dounbt trading them two older players with expensive contracts in comparison would be high on their to do list

The Rockies are not going to give up a player who's playing as well as he is if they are trying to make a run at a playoff spot this year. Yeah, I know. It was sort of a pipe dream trade post, but hell if they're gonna shop him (big IF at this point), might as well find out what it would take.
  8. link Didn't see it posted anywhere. All I can say is "Ha!"
  9. Roast, your new avatar is, as Jim Rome would say, HI-LARIOUS. And Big Z rocks. Koyie Hill + Carlos Zambrano = BFF

  18. MLB.com is projecting Sammy to hit #600 against the Cubs on the 20th. That'd be cool if it happened that way

  23. I'm in a 10-team H2H league with 2 DL spots (ideally one for offense, one for pitching, but whatever). Last week both were filled up with Rich Harden and Huston Street. This week my offense suffered two blows, BJ Upton and Aramis Ramirez. I don't have any more DL spots, and Upton and Ramirez were my only 3B options, and my other 2B option is Ian Kinsler whose hot hitting dropped off the face of the earth at the end of April. My question is should I just dump Harden and Street and put Ramirez and Upton on the DL spots and fill up my missing offense slots, or should I hold on to them in hopes they come back strong. My pitching is solid without them. My starters are: Felix Hernandez Johan Santana Chris Young Rich Hill Oliver Perez Ian Snell And my closers are: Al Reyes Mariano Rivera Jeremy Accardo Street just got a third opinion on his elbow and he has no ligament damage, but his symptoms aren't gone yet so he can't throw and probably won't be back for a while. Harden is making progress and says he could be back by the end of June or the beginning of July. I kind of want to keep at least one of them, but if I lose them it's not exactly hurting my chances. I'm more inclined to keep Harden since he was pitching like a God before he got injured, but who knows what will happen when he comes back. What would you guys do? Ther best ranked 3B on the FA market in my league are Brandon Inge and Eric Chavez.
