  1. According to the recap on ESPN it says he's listed as Day-to-Day
  2. It'd be kind of tough, they'd never let them go in a million years, and neither would I if I were the Mets. They're way too valuable, and if there were ever a definition of "untouchable", I would assume the Mets are putting that label on Reyes and Wright. And that makes me a sad panda  Adding Reyes would solve so many problems it's not even funny
  3. Mike Pelphrey? Only people I'll see them trade that is young and worth while is Mike Pelphrey or Lastings Milledge. Reyes for Z, straight up, please. (yeah right)
  4. Places to visit? Where to start. First and foremost: TACO MAC!!!!!!!!!!! Secondly: ANDRETTI!!!!!! Thirdly: DAVE AND BUSTERS!!!!!! And that's what I do in Atlanta every time I go there, and it never gets boring I was actually going to this series this weekend, but my friend who lives up there works at the Aquarium and they just got two whale sharks in so he's gonna be busy and couldn't accomodate my visit, plus I have to stay in town and go ot a bachelor party. Sometimes I hate wedding season...... Oh yeah, fourthly: GEORGIA AQUARIUM!!!!!
  5. Don't think we have to worry about that one, he already seems like he's improved. I think he's set for the rest of the year
  6. And a very annoying person to interview.
  7. +1. That's one of the most random/cool things I've ever seen a baseball player do. Of course I suppose you could turn that around and say that playing baseball is one of the most random things I've ever seen a car jumper do.
  8. As if Chicago were the bastion of morality and upstanding behavior. If the guy can't handle TAMPA, I doubt he can handle Chicago. You know what? I lived in a Tampa suburb for 15 years of my life before moving here for college. I'm offended... in fact, you dissed my hometown, I'm so angry right now I could just......... AHHHHH, Elijah take it away: “Hey, dawg. It’s on, dawg. You dead, dawg. I ain’t even bullcornin'. Your kids too, dawg. It don’t even matter to me who is in the car with you. Ninja, all I know is, ninja, when I see your muthaluvin' behind riding, dawg, it’s on. As a matter of fact, I’m coming to your mothaluvin' house.” :) Seriously though, Tampa is weak. Chicago could be a trouble town for him. Regardless of all that, I'd let him play right field in Wrigley. Lee could be a good influence on him. Unfortunately we'd probably have to give a lot up to get him, unless they just REALLY want to get rid of him
  9. http://sports.espn.go.com/minorlbb/news/story?id=2893060 Soooooo, that minor league guy who ripped out two bases, tossed them in the outfield and later took them with him further into the outfield and mimed throwing a grenade at an umpire and pretty much losing his mind gets 1 game less than Lou did for kicking his hat and some dirt around and on an ump? I know they're seperate leagues... but seriously? Edit: Coach C beat me to it
  10. Nobody, Premium or "lowly regular user" has access to the search function; it's been disabled for quite some time because of concerns that it was contributing to some of the board outages. Ahhhhhh, I figured it was a premium function. Thanks for the info guys
  11. I'm sure there's probably dozens of threads on here somewhere about purchasing tickets for Cubs games and whatnot, but I'm a lowly regular user and don't have access to the fabled search function, so I was wondering... Me and my brother are planning a week long trip to Chicago during the week of August 12-18 and we're hoping to catch a Cubs vs. the Reds and Cards game. Where is the best place to buy tickets for these? Cubs.com sucks, but I looked at Stubhub.com and TicketLiquidators.com, and both have good seats available, each with varying prices. Are they the best route to go getting good seats? Me and my brother were thinking of paying top notch for one game and getitng seats behind the Cubs dugout/on-deck circle, and the best price I found for the Reds game (since it's cheaper) was $189 each for Section 16 row 2. That was on Ticket Liquidators, I was just wondering if that site is safe to buy from. Or is there better sites to buy from? Thanks!
  12. Molina is a career .242/.296/.342 hitter, great move by the Cardinals!!!11!1
  13. Yeah, I know. Cust is a horrible contact hitter. He's struck out like 36 times or something in those 23 games. But as far as patience and taking walks is concerned he's second to none
  14. I didn't know Roger Clemens was married to a man with horrible breast implants
  15. What about Jack Cust? Here's a guy who has a 1.033 OPS despite a .233 batting average... Nearly 200 points of isolated discipline and 400 points of isolated power... Jack Cust's Patience vs. Kevin Youkilis' patience Cust wins hands down. Sickening statistic: Jack Cust has 23 walks in 23 games this year. Derrek Lee & Mark DeRosa lead the Cubs in walks with 20 through 48 games played. Youkilis has 25 walks through 50 games. If Youkilis is the Greek God of Walks, Jack Cust is the Almighty Omnipotent God of Walks
  16. His numbers from the lead-off spot are pretty good throughout his career, whereas the 3rd and 5th spots are mediocre at best, and he was hitting in the 3 and 5 spots in the middle of a lineup that consisted of Teixeira, Young, and Blalock when they were all hitting like madmen and Soriano performed below average. So to say putting him around Ramirez or Lee for protection doesn't seem to matter. Only way I would think they move Soriano out of lead-off is if Pie impresses them enough to bat lead-off, even though he probably shouldn't if he starts hitting well in the bottom half of the order.
  17. I think the Cubs are a very safe bet to catch fire and finish the season at 131-31. I mean, seriously, is there any doubt?
  18. Fixed. No need to play duck duck goose in CF when Pie can provide stellar defense. Offense shouldn't be a factor considering who we're trotting out there almost every game which gives the Cubs a defensive and offensive liability. I dont know why you needed to "Fix" what I said. It was pretty much the same exact thing. twas kind of a joke, not trying to prove you wrong
  19. Fixed. No need to play duck duck goose in CF when Pie can provide stellar defense. Offense shouldn't be a factor considering who we're trotting out there almost every game which gives the Cubs a defensive and offensive liability. I'd rather Pie be slightly below average at the plate and play awesome defense than have Jacque Jones be well below average at the plate and play awful defense. Did anyone notice his patented touchdown spike cutting off that double and throwing into the cutoff man yesterday?
  20. I won't give him a one liner, but I am happy this happened, since I hate Clemens and the circus that follows him around. It's so fitting that with all the troubles the Yankees have had this year with their pitching that their savior ends up getting injured before even pitching a game for them.
  21. I hope Kinsler turns it around for your team.... Okay I hope he does the same for one of mine, too... but Dye is coming around and Kinsler has been subpar for the last month. Hopefully Kinsler will figure it out. Crisp sucks, Atkins is atrocious, and you did trade high on some guys. Carmona was horrendous last year, and this year he's been good, but he has a low K rate. I don't think he'll keep it up Germano is not going to stay this good. His minor league numbers are mediocre. I'd say you pulled a good one. A great one if Kinsler turns it around
  22. Rick Wilkins Steve Beuchelle Tuffy Rhodes Derrick May Brant Brown Turk Wendell Scott Bullett Kevin Foster and Candy Maldonado
  23. Well they're definitely not going to win without him, and I personally think they have a good chance to win with him. Getting rid of Lee for future production a couple years down the road is unneccesary when there are other players we could deal without that could be traded for pieces we need to help us win this year. You do realize that this generalization is true for the Cardinals, Pirates, Reds, and Astros as well, right? And if the Brewers keep playing the way they have for the next week or two, you can lump them in there as well. Yeah, we're 7.5 back of the Brewers, who are losing ground, and yet we're a 1.5 back of 2nd place. This means that the NL Central is still a toss up, and giving up right now when this division can still be had is foolish.
  24. Livan Hernandez? He of the career 4.16ERA and 1.41WHIP? The last time Hernandez had an above average ERA was 2003, and the last year before that when he had an above average ERA was 1997, when he started only 17 games. Hooray, he'll eat innings and he never gets injured. It'd be great if he could do that whilst not sucking. Hernandez and Tracy for Z, Marmol/Marshall/Prospect, and Floyd is something the Diamondbacks would sign in a heartbeat, because they realized they just fleeced the Cubs. I'd rather trade Zambrano for one of Young, Quentin, Gonzales, or Upton (who probably won't be traded) and let Guzman or Marmol take a shot at the #5 job, than get Hernandez and Tracy and watch Hernandez suck it up while Tracy has to get accustomed to playing an OF position he's only played 47 games at in one of the toughest ballparks to play OF in due to the weather conditions. Zambrano should go for no less than one of the top tier prospects in baseball. Anything else would have to be better, he's got way more value than that
