  1. Link Then they go into the poem, which is remarkably lame and quite childish
  2. I've said it almost a dozen times since I've been here: I have a baseball man-crush on Ian Snell. I want him on the Cubs, pronto. Unfortunaterly now that he's pitching extremely well they're probably gonna lock him up sometime in the next year or so. Did I think he was going to be this good this year? Yes, actually, I did. At least one of my predictions has come through.
  3. You're supposed to drive in runs with your glove for your own team, [expletive]
  4. Goodie, now they can talk about steroids again instead of Curt Schillings sock
  5. Maybe a serious problem for my grandchildren, but until the Earth turns into a ball of fire, as long as I have an air conditioner I will continue to not give a crap
  6. It's a sock. I repeat: It's a sock. People are making amazing comeback stories, amazing plays, and amazing runs at records......... And yet people are still throwing a fuss over, I repeat: a sock. I hate the media
  7. I think The Lord may have it out for Torii Hunter this week. First the potential 3-year suspension, now this? Hate it for the guy
  8. Young and MArtinez were on the bench because A) Young had an off day when I wrote that B) Martinez was still on the DL when I wrote that I actually dropped Teixeira and picked up Gonzalez again. I needed a boost, and waiting for Tex to come around wasn't working for my offense. Someone else picked him up, which sucks, I was hoping someone would leave him and let him collect dust. Ohs vell. Oh, and I dropped Church and picked up Hamilton. He's done well. It's weird, I've been real high on my pitching, and so-so on my offense. So far the past two weeks, my offense has picked up steam and been real productive, but my pitching has blown donkeys
  9. Go Twinkies. Gotta love the talent on that team. Gotta love it even more when Liriano eventually comes back. Santana, Mauer, Morneau, Liriano, Nathan, Hunter (for now, anyways), Cuddyer. Nice and stacked
  10. Along with this one. Stupid Cubs and their inability to score runs. I swore that I'd rid myself of caring about the Cubs after that game. Silly me.
  11. I named 25, but only got 24 on the current 25-man... for some reason I forgot about Cotts, but said Miller, even though they brought up Cherry, who I also named. Don't know why I did that
  12. I vote for Carson Daly. The ratings expectations must be remarkably low for him to still have a late night television show. His show is the most un-funny thing since the ebola virus
  13. If you have the longest streak aren't you supposed to get tickets to the all-star game? And if you beat it you get tickets to the world series? Or am I thinking too big?
  14. I liked playing it at first a year or so ago, but once you get up to like 8-9 games with your streak and then you miss out, it gets really obnoxious to go back and choose the players over again. It's an outstanding idea for a game though, with an awesome reward if you're the best at it, or if you beat it
  15. If you're hurt for pitching, giving up two of them, regardless if one of them is on the DL or not, is a bad move if you're only getting one pitcher in return. Especially since you're giving up Vlad and Sizemore, two of the best OF in fantasy. I wouldn't do it. I'd definitely try and trade two of your power hitters for perhaps one above average pitcher and an average pitcher. If not, check the waiver wire, not sure how many teams are in your league, and I'm assuming these guys are taken, but these guys have been solid or hot the past few weeks: Ian Snell Tom Gorzelanny Ramon Ortiz Also, he may be on someone's DL, but if not, you may want to see if Bartolo Colon is still available. I picked him up in one league the day after he came back, he pitched extremely well. Sure, he is a health risk, but while he's healthy he's likely to pitch much better than, say, Kip Wells.
  16. Ohman + Izturis for a Microwave and a box of Red Baron pan pizzas
  17. Oh, for some unknown reason I thought you were thinking of dropping a reliever for another reliever, I'm nitwitted.... I'd drop Garcia. I think he's overrated, and won a lot of games due to a big hitting lineup. Greinke is still really young and has great stuff, unfrotunately he's got some injury issues and he plays for the Royals. But the Phillies aren't exactly lighting it up either. Garcia or Greinke could be a wash for a drop. They could both end up with similar results. Good news is the rest of your pitching won't suffer a huge loss getting rid of one of them.
  18. Ooooohhhhhh, Baby Ruth day. One whole Fun Size Baby Ruth? That's well worth the price of admission! How many people can that promotion actually reel in?
  19. Bob Brenley makes me laugh Consider yourself lucky you don't have to listen to Al Hrabosky. I actually enjoy listening to Bob and Len. It's just that Bob Brenley reminds me of my Dad. A guy who gives as many good lessons as he can, all while trying to act cool in front of my friends like he's one of the guys and it's just awkward
  20. Bob Brenley makes me laugh I lol'ed at the Danks-Dernier comment. Yeah, but I muffed it, it was Durbin, not Dernier
  21. Bob's full of the childish comments today, isn't he? Bob Brenley makes me laugh
  22. If I'm going to trade Z and bag a big name in return, I'd rather seek a three way trade and get Miggy Cabrera than ARod. Get whatever prospects that Florida wants for Z, then send those prospects plus Murton if need be to Florida for Cabrera. Either that, or see who else the Mets would throw in on top of Milledge for Z. Milledge alone doesn't do it, but he'd be a good starting centerpiece. I'm assuming a move of Cabrera back to the OF? If we could land Cabrera, which would seem unlikely, it would be one of the best moves out there. I hope Loria dumb enough to let him loose
  23. Reyes has been lights out and is a top 5 leader in saves and he's on the d-rays. That should mean something. 1) Weathers is apart of a closer-by-committee role, if I'm not mistaken, and isn't OFFICIALLY the closer 2) Cordero had a great first closer year, and a horrible second. You don't know what you're gonna get, but with the amoun of games the Nats win, I doubt it'd be a lot. 3) J.J. Putz is J.J. Putz. Personally, I'd drop Weathers, regardless if he's in my signature or not, and pick up Reyes
  24. I'd love to trade Z to get A-Rod as much as the next guy, but I don't think it will happen. Sure, right now, Yankee fans love him. what happens if he goes on a cold streak? They'll turn on him in a heartbeat and it'll get to him. I think the rumor of him opting out and joining the Cubs in the offseason to be with Lou is more feasible than a trade right now. If we trade Zambrano, he could net us some incredibly good prospects, which in all honesty, I'd prefer to get than A-Rod. The question is which prospects are expendable?
