Not fair: Brant Brown shouldn't make this list just because he made one error that cost us a game in a year we still made the playoffs anyway.

I went Neifi. The pre-'06 picture of him in his lazy clothes right after signing his ridiculous deal, with that horrible grin on his face....that's the clincher for me.

Other= MOISES [expletive] ALOU

I win! And I am locking the thread now.

Disappointed nobody else has mentioned him.

maybe if it was a poll for fav cub ever he'd get some votes.

i took him for granted when he was here. i miss him now.

you probably took him for granted because he wasn't that good when he was here. Combine the idiotic baserunning and lousy fielding with the disappointing bat, and there wasn't a lot to enjoy about the Moises Alou era.

Disappointing bat???? You're kidding right?

He hit .293 in 04 with a career high 39 HRs

And for the record, he was 8-8 in stolen base attempts in 02, his first year as a Cub.

04 was the last of a 3 year contract. When you sign a big 3 year deal, it helps to produce in the first year if you want people to appreciate what you bring to the table.

Moises was a solid hitter most of his Cub career. I don't think a "disappointing bat" is a fair assessment.

out of every year since 1997, his three worst OPS+ years were with the Cubs. In 2002 he had a .275/.337/.419 line, which is completely mediocre for a corner outfielder. In 2003 he was at .280/.357/.462, which is only slightly better than what Murton did last year. He had a good year in 2004, but all in all he came nowhere close to earning the big contract that the Cubs handed him.

Lenny Harris, easy.

Not only did he screw us over while he was on our team, but he went and screwed us over on the marlins. In the same year.

I didn't read the responses -- am I the first one to name Moises?

It's easy to hate the bad players. Takes guts to hate the ones who had some production. :)

Mosies sure seems to be a prick, but he hit a bit while he was here (though the constant double plays were maddening).

Hundley was a prick and couldn't hit a lick. Bad combo.

I still say Merker should be on the list.

Neifi for me and it's not even close.

The time reporters asked him something like "why are you starting" or "why did you hit so well" (I don't remember the question) and he said "because of this" and flexed his bicep sold the deal for me. The fact that he knew how to have a little hot streak to earn himself playing time, and worse yet a multi-year deal boiled my blood. He came off as extremely cocky, when he should have just realized how bad he was.

Easy Choice: Todd Hundley

Agreed. A lot of those other guys were miscast by bad management. Most being role players who were made regulars. Todd Hundley got a boatload of money and just plain stunk!!!!!!!!!

Not only did he stink, he was incredulous about it. When he got booed, he would flip off the fans. Class act all the way.

I had to go with Todd Hundley -- he gets extra points for being the offspring of a much-loved Cub and still becoming one of the most unlikable and unproductive douche bags in Cubs history.

after tonight's game, i really wish i had voted for latroy. I realize now that I despite him far more than Jeff Blauser.

I despite him? WTH does that mean?

:P

I went w/ Hundley... I had the displeasure of meeting him--dude is a pud (I'd use much stronger language if it wouldn't bet me banned). He was a legend in his own mind, and I wouldn't be surprised if to this day he felt he had Hall of Fame talent; he just simply was a jerk.

I was at the game where Todd Hundley was getting booed all game, hit a HR late, an flicked off the crowd as he was running to first. Man I hated him.

That said, I voted for Pierre.

I could never get myself up to hate Hawkins. Same goes for Jones. I just feel bad for them.

Hawkins was a complete ass to everyone who dared question his closing ability in 2004, he didn't earn any pity from me.
