In a deep Keeper league I traded him for Braun and Hochevar. Should I regret that?

Depends on your needs. But Lincecum's going to be great as long as his arm stays attached, which is the main concern with him.

By my count only 18 guys drafted in the 48th round have signed in the last 3 years. The last player the Cubs signed out of the 48th round was C Olin Wick, who is no longer with the organization. The last player to reach the majors draft in the 48th round (that I can see) is Mike Jacobs, who actually didn't sign the year he was drafted there (1998) but waited until the following year when he was drafted in the 38th round.

Him and Khalil Green.

Greene was never drafted in the 48th round, we drafted him in the 14th round in 2001 and the Padres drafted him in the 1st round in 2002.

While Lincecum is obviously tearing up the PCL, Yovanni Gallardo isn't that far behind:

2.70 ERA, 30 IP, 42 Ks, 8 BB, 0.93 WHIP, .187 BAA.

Looks like the Brewers might be getting a shot in the arm now any day as well. Although there really isn't a spot for him in the rotation until Sheets' next injury.

In other words, he'll be up within the month. :D

Geez, call him up already. And start him.

0.29 ERA. 14 Ks yesterday.

is he in AAA?

Yes. His stats: 31 IP, 0.29 ERA, 46 K, 11 BB, .119 BAA.

Dude is a stud. My editor (a Giants fan) was a little disappointed he didn't make the big league club out of Spring Training.

Just saw on the bottom line he is getting called up to start for sundays game.

Yep. Russ Ortiz assumed his rightful place on the DL.

They Wade Miller'd Ortiz. My editor was hoping that would happen on Tuesday night and got his wish. Unfortunately he had to give away his tickets to Sunday's Giants game.

Thank god for nsbb shooting off the news about Lincecum starting Sunday! I was hoping to wait a week or two before grabbing him (while still being in the minors), but with that news, I knew I'd have to pounce right away.

I'm stoked.
