With Utah beating Houston tonight, the Bulls will play at either 3:30 or 6 PM on Saturday. If Dallas beats Golden State to send that series to a game 7, as well, the Bulls will play at 3:30. If Golden State beats Dallas, the Bulls will play at 6.

I'd prefer the 3:30 starting time but I really want Golden State to win...

Pistons Shrug Off Jibes

Here we are, the tip-off of the Bulls-Pistons Eastern Conference semifinals still two days away and the trash talk already has begun. And Rasheed Wallace has yet to utter a word. "We are going to win. We are going to win, of course," Andres Nocioni told reporters in Chicago on Tuesday. "I believe we can win. We are going to play seven games, and we are going to win (Game 7) in Detroit. It will be nice. Nice." Antonio McDyess raised his eyebrows at that. "Oh, really?" he said. "We'll see. This ain't the regular season no more. For us, we've been there and done everything. We know what it's going to take to win this series. We aren't playing around." -- Detroit News

Damn, man. Noc sure doesn't hold back. Not sure that's the most wise tactic against the Pistons.

I think this is getting blown out of proportion. Seriously what do you expect him to say? Im sure everybody on the Bulls thinks they will win, and likewise for the Pistons. Its not like he came out saying "We are going to sweep them, they arent that good".

The smart play is always the same: "We know they're a good team, we'll need to play our best basketball, our challenge is to play our game well..." yada yada yada

Declaring victory just becomes bulletin board material for the other team.

Everyone was crying about the things the Bulls said before the Heat series. Everyone was saying that you don't want to piss off the Heat or give them "bulletin board material". Well...you know what happened. I'm not a big believer in "bulletin board material". It's the NBA playoffs. I doubt the Pistons will put in more effort because Noc said he thinks they are going to advance.

I think emotional messages are much more important in football where emotions can cause a swing in one game. A 7 game playoff series has so many swings and turns that trash talk will not do that much to effect the series

Yeah, that's how I feel too.

I agree to an extent. I think a team can grab and keep momentum, and I think Golden State proves that. Despite Dallas winning a couple of games, Golden State really had the momentum throughout that series.

That said, I don't think bulletin board material is a big issue in basketball.

The Pistons definitely need bulletin board material if they want a chance against the Bulls.

I know I basically already posted this, but I thought the bolded section was funny...

But let's not get too far ahead of ourselves. Game 1 hasn't even arrived yet, and there has already been some pre-series smack talk from Nocioni, who may have already clinched this year's MBP (Most Bold Player) trophy. "We are going to win. We are going to win, of course. We are going to play seven games, and we are going to win [Game 7] in Detroit. It will be nice. Nice," he said, prompting some of the Pistons to shoot back that Nocioni is annoying and a flopper.

LOL...Noc is our Rodman like that....hehe.

The only thing that bothers me about Noc's comment was that he said it would take 7 games to beat them :)

+1 :D
