Figured now was a good time to reset the thread and focus on the playoffs. Keep draft discussion going in the season thread if you'd be so kind

I'm feeling strangely optimistic today.

Playoffs predictions:

Mavs over Warriors in 5

Suns over Lakers in 7

Spurs over Nuggets in 6

Rockets over Jazz in 5

Pistons over Magic in 5

Cavs over Wizards in 4

Raptors over Nets in 7

Bulls over Heat in 5

Conference Semis:

Mavs over Rockets in 5

Spurs over Suns in 6

Bulls over Pistons in 7

Raptors over Cavs in 6

Conference Finals:

Mavs over Spurs in 7

Bulls over Raptors in 7

NBA Finals:

Mavs over Bulls in 5

EDIT: That would be 13, for the over. :)

Over/under on number of victories this postseason:

6.5

We'll beat Miami in 6. Anything further than that is crap-shoot.

That would be 4 victories. The question is if you think they'll get as far as 3 victories in round 2.

I'll take the under on the 6.5.

Well, personally I think we'd take Detroit to 7 at the worst. I know the morons on ESPN think that the Heat would be a real tough matchup for the Pistons, but we beat them 3 out of 4 in the regular season. The one game we lost, we had a 14 point lead in the 3rd quarter at the Palace.

We match up with the Pistons real well IMO.

That would be amazing. It would also represent a complete transfer of power in the East, something that usually doesn't happen in only one season.

I find it unlikely, but hey -- here's hoping it happens.

Hasn't it been happening over last season and this season though? The Bulls couldn't quite get over Miami last year, and then maybe they do this year? The momentum getting them past Detroit?

Several? There were only 3 people who picked. And one of them did NOT pick 1 vs. 1. There was another person who said Bulls win the East, but lose in the finals, with no other teams picked.

Go Bulls. Stop baiting the Heat. Don't disappoint me or I'll never forgive you. I've got my firstborn riding on this thing. PLEASE DEAR GOD DON'T LOSE IN THE FIRST ROUND.

Whew. That feels better. 8-)

just saw on Comcast, that on the eve of the 1984 draft there was a deal on the table to trade Dr. J for the 3rd overall pick(used to select MJ). Rod Thorn pulled it off the table....good move I'd say.
