Woohoo! More fun with Theriot-Izturis-Cedeno-Lee across the infield!!!!

Well, it's possible DeRosa will be back, unless there was something I didn't hear tonight.

I dunno, he looked like he was in a lot of pain in his lone AB tonight.

Yeah, I'm not convinced he's in any shape to play.

I'd hope we have the good sense to send Cedeno down for a bit and bring up Scott Moore for the next week or so.

Why was DeRosa even allowed in the game? It was pretty obvious he shouldn't have been swinging a bat.

Who knows? Before the game Lou said he'd be available in case of emergency. I don't think down by 1 in the 5th is an emergency. Plus I wanted Wuertz to stay in for the rest of the season.

I like Rich Hill, but let's not get too carried away here. To suggest that he's better than Zambrano is pretty bold, considering that he's had less than half of a season of success.

I believe people are suggesting Rich Hill has been better than Z since the middle of last season. There are causes for concern for Z though - his back, his weight, his BBs.

Since August 1:

Rich Hill: 83.2 IP, 2.47 ERA, 84 K/21 BB, 0.91 WHIP, 11 HR

Carlos Zambrano: 78 IP, 4.62 ERA, 68 K/44 BB, 1.47 WHIP, 8 HR

Carlos has better stuff and has a much longer and better history but Hill obviously has been much, much better over the last half season.

4:1 strikeout ratios are great.

3:2 not so much.

Game-time temperature: 43°F

Feels like: 38°F

Cloudy, 20% chance of precipitation. Winds blowing in from RF at about 5-10 mph.

Sounds like good conditions for a Rich Hill win. . . Then again any game condition against any batter sounds like good conditions for a Rich Hill win.

The Saturday games generally aren't shown because FOX generally has the rights to that game. Just like last Saturday's game, today's game isn't being televised by FOX so those without CSN should be able to watch. So if the game is televised on WGN or CSN, it should be available on MLB.TV or MLB EI.

I don't think this is really how it works. I think they blackout the other games that are on during the national fox game because they want you to watch the televised game. (also known as B.S.)

The game on Fox is at 2:30 so I believe we're safe with our 12:00 start. Right?

The Cubs get back on track with a win today. A comment that Ron Santo makes when ever the Cubs have a big lead fit yesterday's game to a tee. You need to keep on adding runs no matter how big your lead is.

I haven't been following closely this week so please tell me why Aramis or DeRosa wouldn't be playing? Are they injured?

Aramis has a swollen wrist, and DeRosa has a bad back. Both, I think, are listed as day to day.

Ah...thanks for the info. Hope they recover soon!

This may be a simplistic view on my part but, if Hill continues to consistently throw strikes along with hitting his spots and Zambrano doesn't, Hill will be the Cubs defacto ace.

Until Zambrano consistently throws strikes he'll always be a level below the Chris Carpenters, Roy Oswalts, etc.
