They did here. I figured they switched nationally since this is the only close game.

 

Unsurprisingly, CBS is still showing the USC game here. They were stupid at times while showing the UCLA game - switching to UNC-Michigan State as both teams were taking out their starters.

Three Pac-10 teams in the Sweet 16!

Wow, I was trashing the crap out of the Pac-10 when Stanford got blown out. They shut me up.

 

ACC only one Sweet 16 team, Big Ten only one. Big East with 2 (would have 3 if Pitino didn't draw up 27-foot 3-pointers in late-game timeouts). Good enough.

If there is a 1 seed that I'm glad we're playing, it would have to be Kansas. We match up better with them than the other three 1 seeds.

Kansas is the best 1 seed for us for a variety of reasons, but mainly the height factor. I feel like our defense can hopefully shut down your guys' athleticism. Oden would more than likely have a field day against our short front line, Florida's big guys would kill us as well, and UNC is the best team in the country in terms of getting out on the break and scoring points.

 

It should be a good game. I feel pretty confident that we will give you guys everything that you can handle :D

Although I wouldn't be surprised if he was jealous, I would hesitate to call a 54-49 win in which both teams shot under 40 percent (under 35 from 3) anything but ugly, no matter how good the defense was.

Purdue is a real up and coming team. They play awesome defense and Painter has an amazing recruiting class coming in. If those guys can maintain the team defense but raise the offense to another level, watch out Big Ten teams.

 

And good for Tim Floyd. Dude had a rough rough time in Chicago, nice to seem him bounce back on his feet and be successful again.

he's a pretty good college coach. he was never cut out to handle the pressure/ego's of the NBA (not to mention that Krause was giving him a roster with Bryce Drew and Khalid El-Amin)

Yeah, but can they score enough to play with you guys? If they can and pull the upset Lowery is on everyone's short list.

 

I don't know. There's a lot written about SIU's D, but statistically, we beat them in every category except Opponent's points per game. That's not surprising since they slow the game to a crawl and limit possessions. We hold teams to lower FG%, though.

 

They aren't tall, and they don't rebound that well, so that works in our favor. But they're tough and tenacious. They're just the type of team that I could see beating us.

OT: My cousin's Stanford women's basketball career is over, as the 2-seeded Cardinal lose, on their home court, to 10-seed Florida State in the 2nd round of the women's tournament. :(
