I love IU basketball, but I don't think they have much of a chance against UCLA. They've not won a lot away from home and it seems they peaked about a month ago. I guess anyone who can shoot it from behind the arc has a chance, though.

I really feel bad for Holy Cross and New Mexico State. If they had been matched up with Virginia and/or Maryland instead of Texas/SIU I think they would have had a significantly better matchup. I might've picked Holy Cross to the Sweet 16 if they were the 13 in that Midwest bracket.

 

Thats how I felt when I first saw the braket for A&M-CC. They were constantly projected as either a 13 or 14 seed for the past month on most every site. Being their 1st trip and such a young program I don't think the NCAA gave them much of a chance.

 

Of course had they beaten UNLV in Vegas like they could have that would have given them their key win to boost their rating.

So far I'm doing alright. 26 of 32 so far, with all six being teams that I had eliminated in the next round. Even called a few upsets like Winthrop. The Illinois one hurts though. I thought I had that upset in the bag. Only big upsets I'm calling this time through are Nevada taking down Memphis and Vandy beating Washington State.

I don't have any proof (my guide hasn't updated any of that) but I'm almost sure that we're getting North Carolina-Michigan State for most of that game. I'll be watching Indiana again online.

I still hate Winthrop

 

The Big East is not going to continue their performance so far (3-3) and the Big Ten won't either (5-1). Each conference will likely have two Sweet 16 teams though.

Well, yeah, the Big Ten has to play two #1 seeds and a #2 seed, whereas the Big East plays a 3, a 7 and an 11. The Big Ten was also supposed to go 3-3 (by seedings) and went 5-1. The Big East was supposed to go 5-1 and went 3-3, including Marquette getting smoked by Michigan State.

If you go by seedings, yes. But after the Marquette player was ruled out by injury, a lot of people who had Marquette changed to Michigan State. And even before that, I thought Michigan State was the favorite to win that game.

I have a friend who has been picking against every team that just happens to end up choking or giving up a ton of offensive rebounds so far in this tourney.

 

Needless to say, he picked Xavier to beat OSU.
