You mean, "Illinois proves why they shouldn't have been in the tourney."

 

Was I the only one who knew this game wasn't over with 7 minutes left? All you had to do was watch Illinois against Maryland, Arizona, Michigan St., Indiana and Iowa and know they were going to find some way to lose it. It's bad enough running an offense that puts you 25 ft. away from the basket when you have Deron Williams and Dee Brown, but when you do it with guys like Frazier, McBride and Meachem.... aarrrgghhhh!!!

Only fitting that the Illini choke away a big lead down the stretch to end the season, as that's the only thing they've really been good at offensively this year.

 

Just poor decision making, nobody to go to late in the game, nobody that wants to shoot the ball, and nobody that can create their own shot.

 

Otherwise known as a team full of role players, which is what we had this year. It's amazing to think if I'd told people two years ago that Warren Carter would be better than Brian Randle people would have called me crazy.

I am glad they lost because it is better to go down by 2 points in the first round to VTech than to suffer the huge embarrasment of getting blown out by SIU in the second round.

As an Illinois fan I said it before... the other team clad in orange deserved an invite more than we did. Plus I'll go out on a limb and say thank goodness we played the worst #5 seed in the tourney.

both of those things might be true, but the worst 5 seed should be a lot better than a 12 seed

and holy crap, was that an ugly cheerleader.

These announcers are out of their minds...that was a terrible call. It was a textbook block by Durant.

Illinois just simply didn't have the playmakers to win this game. They were physically outmatched against VT whose athletes made us look real bad when they went to the press.

Goodbye aTmCC. You made a good run but it won't be enough.

 

I'm proud of them, they scared the hell out of Wisconsin. I was just hoping they could keep up with them for most of the game, never thought they would actually take an 18 point lead on them?

 

All in all it would have made for a great story given their history.

i was watching that Illinois game at work and I was telling this other guy "just watch, Illinois will miss all their free throws down the stretch and lose." Unbelievable.
