Tech is shooting 23% from the field right now. Illini need to finish the half strong.

Welcome to Illinois basketball. Make the game ugly and drag other teams down to your level...which is why I picked them to win two games in the tournament.

Illinois tried to give them 5 easy points to end the half and momentum, thank God that long 3 didn't go in.

29-21 at the half. I'll take it all day. Keep playing strong D in the 2nd half and we are in very good shape.

Go Big Ten. Which is hard to say with Purdue and Illinois playing, but I really expect the Illini to win. They've played much better as the season progressed.

The ACC hasn't looked that great so far in the tournament and the Big Ten has been pretty solid so I think both of those trends bodes well for the Illini.

Looks like Texas is up on the possible upset chopping block.

I haven't been impressed at all with the ACC this year. North Carolina is good, but still not nearly as good as they should be with that talent level and coaching acumen. I never really thought there was a clear top conference, or any great ones, and that the Big Ten was pretty much as good as any.

PS If I had to guess, I'd guess the Big 12 ends up with the best record in the tournament, but they only got four teams in, three of which could do very well, but they have more bad teams than other top conferences.

Wait a minute-if McBride got fouled on a 3 point shot, then how did he shoot the first 2 and then Meachem get to shoot the last one? Did Weber pull a fast one on the officials, or was there something that I missed?

I thought maybe so, but then I thought I saw McBride in the game on the next defensive possession-I'm not watching the TV currently though so they may be explaining it right now though-so if they do, I haven't heard it yet. :D

You mis-saw, lol. He went back to the locker room. It was definatley an injury.

Announcers implying that McBride had to pinch a loaf.

Would you want to shoot a free throw if there were a chance you were about to do something mid-shot that would really throw off your center of gravity?

Ok-I'm actually surprised an NBA Bill Belicheck type of coach hasn't tried to use that rule to their advantage yet and have a player fake an injury to get a great free throw shooter on the line during a crucial situation.

Probably because whoever had Shaq on their team might do the same thing.

Nah. In front of millions of people viewing in the arena and on national television especially.

Arizona hasn't scored in the first six minutes of the second half. Then the idiot Radenovic (I don't really care if this spelling is right or not because he sucks) commits a lazy foul with 3 seconds on the shot clock.

Purdue leads 45-34, Illinois leads 46-34.

big 10 is good

Yeah. I just found it interesting the scores are so close together.

Now it's 50-42 Illini and 49-43 Purdue.

Don't get too comfortable. Illinois is playing horrible, but lucky.

VT just missed the three that would have put them just five out, and Washington got called for a technical that was baloney.

Randall just airballed a free throw and bricked the second off the back of the rim.

Kramer for Purdue just made a 15 foot shot from his knees!

What station is the Purdue game on?
