Saints give offer sheet out to Jason David:

It's a 4 year deal, not sure on the money yet but it's supposed to be the largest offer sheet signed during this offseason. My bet is the Colts don't match-they will take the 4th round pick and look in to break two new corners in. They do have options though-their starting corners would then be Marlin Jackson and Kelvin Hayden, who were their top 2 picks 2 years ago, and their 3rd corner would be Tim Jennings, who was their 2nd round pick a year ago. So they do have talent waiting in the wings, but they will desperately need depth. They do have 7 picks between the 3rd-5th round with the David 4th round pick, so that should be quite helpful.

Edit: I'm hearing now that the numbers are 4 years, 15.4 million dollars. Good luck with that one NO-you better hope some of that is a poison pill, but considering that it's front-loaded that's probably not too much of the case.

You better be scared. Brandon Jones and Courtney Roby are gonna exploit that youth at corner. :D

I've heard that the Raiders might be interested in signing Tim Rattay, then drafting Calvin Johnson #1 overall and picking up a QB like Trent Edwards (I would prefer Drew Stanton personally) later in the draft. Allow me to say that I would be all for this.

Joe Thomas would be a better selection and move Gallery to RT. They won't be able to do much with that offense until they fix that OL. A QB can still be had with that 2nd round pick. Moss and Porter are a good 1-2 if they can get along, and someone like Aundrae Allison could make a good 3rd WR in the 3rd round.

Moss would be okay for a team in contention. He's not going to do anything in Oakland. I'm hoping they can find a trade partner for him.

I don't see them selecting Joe Thomas after what has happened with Gallery so far in his career. I QB could and hopefully will be had later in the draft as I said before. I would like Drew Stanton but Trent Edwards would be okay also.

The rams traded their 5th round pick to the Chiefs for Dante Hall. I really like this trade cause they get an upgrade at KR without having to use their 1st round pick on Ginn. They also appear to be involved with Carolina in talks for Kris Jenkins. If they can get Jenkins with their 2nd round pick and then take Willis, Revis, or a D-lineman, I will be very happy with their offseason.

Beat you by a minute :)

An additional part of the Dante Hall trade is that the teams have switched 3rd round picks. There's no huge difference though since the picks are the 19th and 21st picks in that round.

According to ESPN radio, the Panthers have released Keyshawn Johnson today. This move came out of left field for me. Do any of you want him for your team?

One forum I saw said the Pats should pick him up-might as well have Keyshawn, Moss, and Stallworth on the same team all demanding the ball :D

I'd absolutely love to see the Titans grab him. Which, quite obviously, means they won't have the slightest bit of interest.

This is an awesome move. It isn't that I hate Key or anything, he was good for us in Dallas, but after him telling Jarrett he was going to "show him" how to do everything the move is well-timed.

i remember watching keyshawn's reaction when the panthers took jarrett. "i'm excited, i really am!"

no, you're not.

Damn it Carolina, Dwayne Jarrett better be one hell of a receiver, because I don't agree with this move at all as it stands right now. 70 catches last year, Keyshawn was doing quite well for us.

Keyshawn would make a good pick-up for the Saints. They could use a veteran receiver.

I don't necessarily want him, but I could see Thompson going after Keyshawn since we failed to land Moss.

So who did the Packers get with their 4th round pick? Cause they wouldnt give up that pick to get Moss, they were offering a 5th rounder. THere is noway in hell that 4th rounder is going to help them more than what Moss could have. Pretty stupid move on the Pack if you ask me, but Im glad they were stupid.

Would the Packers have enough cap room to be able to keep Moss if he hadn't restructured? That's what I heard was the biggest hangup on the deal-Moss was only willing to re-structure his deal to go to the Patriots, and nobody else had the ability to take on the contract otherwise.

BTW, the Packers selected a very interesting prospect there-OT Allen Barbre.

I find it incredible that Thompson wouldn't budge on a 5th round pick for Moss. Wasn't Favre basically foaming at the mouth over Moss? Yes, I realize you don't do everything to please Brett Favre, but a 4th round pick? You aren't exactly giving away the family jewels.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Favre should retire or leave. The team obviously wants to move on, they just don't have the stones to come out and say it because of the Favre legend and potential fan reaction.

I dont know about the cap space, but ESPN is reporting that the only reason a deal didnt get done with the Pack is because the Pack wouldnt give up a 4th rounder, instead offering only a 5th.

JMHO, but I think the Pack got completely schooled on the Moss thing. Belichek must have had his ears to the street and waited in the wings until the Pack thought they were the only ones willing to deal for him.

Then........SWOOP, 4th round pick, steals him from the Pack for peanuts. Very nice work. Favre'll have crap to throw to again this year, and frankly they're still without much RB help.

Cap room isn't a problem. We're something like 18 million under the cap. Thompson is just an absolute buffoon.

I have to hand it to Moss though. He wanted to go to a team that is in contention for a Super Bowl and not another very mediocre 8-8 team. Good for him.

Driver and Jennings aren't crap, but I agree, the depth at WR is pretty bad. Hopefully Koren Robdrunk comes back somewhat early. That would definitely help our depth at WR. And our RB situation...don't even get me started on that.

Time to bump this up again, the Bengals are in more trouble. Linebacker A.J. Nicholson was arrested on Friday for domestic violence, and has now been released by the Bengals. WR Chris Henry tested positive for opiates in a court-ordered drug test recently as well and may now go back to jail.
