We probably stole a few guys from Northeastern and Colgate in some major recruiting moves this year. I'm hoping these coaches really evaluated well because there are not too many 4 or 5 star guys on the list. I think next year will be our year because the coaches have been here long enough to develop a relationship with the HS Soph's, Juniors and coaches.

OU doesnt have a lot of schollys to offer, but we're doing ok.

Our class for 08 is amazing, though.

South Carolina's class is ridiculous. If Spurrier can come close to the talent at Florida, Tennessee and Georgia, look out. We all know he can coach. More importantly, this class really met the needs of our team. I really wouldn't trade it for any other class in the country.

We also have limited scholies and have done well with them (though we could have done better). The best commit is 5-star DT Brian Price who spruned USC. Petey has been trying to get him ever since Price verballed to UCLA and finally secured an in-home visit last month. At the visit, Price's mom brought out a cake that said "13-9!" (The final score of the USC-UCLA game last December.) :)

PSU has like 22 verbals right now but we'll see how that goes tomorrow

No 5-star guys, but many 4-star defensive guys. Looks like they're loading up on D-Linemen between last year and this year. A couple of 4-star OL as well. Rivals.com has them at #23 right now (they were #6 last year)

Doesn't SC have something like 30 recruits "verballed" to them? What's going to happen tomorrow if they all somehow qualify academically?

It's been a very good year and it could get even better with Terrance Toliver and Chad Jones still yet to commit (#13 and #14 in the Rivals 100).

I think that's the understatement of the year, assuming you're a UF fan of course. The talent Urban is stockpiling is reminiscient of those last few USC classes that just went through. They could be scary good if he keeps this up for a couple more years.

LSU is ranked #5, but could jump significantly if they can sign McKnight and Tolliver. I'll be watching the decisions those two young men make closely in the morning.

How many schools is Tolliver going to sign with? :D

The Vols are doing great with pretty much a guaranteed top 5 class and possibly top two to three if we pull in a few interested guys (4-star DE Rae Sykes, 4-star WR Ahmad Paige, and/or 4-star S Nevin McKenzie are probably the most interested.

This is after we pulled in the top corner in the nation (Eric Berry), the top LB in the nation (Chris Donald) and filled needs on the d-line and receiver with four and five stars.

Tennessee is facing a similar situation. We've got 32 guys currently committed, but it's extremely unlikely all of them will be academically eligible plus there are options of greyshirting a guy (which means they sign now but enroll next spring and thus count towards next year's class) and you can back count any guys that you are currently recruiting that you also recruited last year (players that were ineligible to enroll last year can still be counted toward that class).

Not sure what the situation is exactly in South Carolina, but those are the main ways of working around the 85 scholarship limit.

ND will be top-10. If we can be top-10 every year, I'm not even remotely close to complaining. I'd like it if Weis could recruit as well on defense as he does on offense, but even what he has done the last two years is still a gigantic improvement over Ty's defensive recruiting.

Ball State brought in another fairly strong recruiting class, ranked 5th in the MAC. Among them are two small but very good players that were offered by Big Ten schools - RB Frank Edmonds and WR Daniel Ifft.

Missouri is #36 right now, which I'm pretty happy with. No one outstanding on that list, but a lot of holes are being filled and there are some interesting players.

Yep, this is supposed to be Pinkel's best class yet. Too bad we couldn't end up with William Cole, but at least he didn't go to kU or anywhere in the North. Amie would be a nice addition to cap off the class.

Toliver to LSU

Hell yeah! Get McKnight in the fold, and we could have a top 3 recruiting class!

Much as I hate to see a guy with that talent go to an SEC team other than Tennessee, at least ya'll took him away from Florida.

Thanks. :D

Congrats Vance. This thread is depressing.

We actually have 32 (counting Ryan Broadhead, a grayshirt from last season). We can take 27 this year because of drop/outs nonqualifiers from before. Thus, we will oversign by 5. We will probably have 2 non-qualifiers, one we know for sure. The other three will grayshirt.
