Maybe this was mentioned before, but according to the NFL Network, Reggie Wayne said that Peyton's thumb is fine after practice today.

There goes the experimental procedure.

Proof that the media is trying to take over everything, even though the Colts are following the rules:

That's just silly.

You can't expect the media to miss a day of hype. Plus, with an 8:30 pm interview session they might miss dinner.

 It's still silly. If I were the Colts, I'd arrive an extra day late just to make 'em more mad.

What's the penalty for showing up late I wonder?

Penalty is forfeiture of the game. BEARS win the Super Bowl!

That's even more silly.

And I'm referring to both parts of your post. :D

The opposing team automatically starts every drive at the offending team's 25 yard line :D

Good, more time for the Colt offense to be on the field. 8-)

25 yards? No room for Rextacy to throw bombs to Berrian. We'd just come up with 42 yard field goals on every drive.

We'd lose 42-18 or something. (All 18 points are on field goals)

Bears officially wearing the home uniforms, and they will practice at the University of Miami facilities, while the Colts will use the Dolphins facilities. All of this was per the WGN news.

I'm watching Super Bowl XXV between the Giants and Bills on NFL Network. I had totally forgot about the 9:00+ drive by the Giants to start the 3rd quarter.

I'm quite upset. Earlier in the week they had the Titans/Rams Super Bowl listed as playing, but now they're showing this. It's a great game, but I was ready to watch the Titans/Rams.

Oh well.

40+ minutes in TOP for the Giants. That's one way to keep the offense of your opponent off the field.

I really wanted to see a Bears/Saints game today. Whens the next time that'll be shown?

I don't have NFL Network - I wanna watch Super Bowl XXXVIII...

Seems like all the greatest games I've ever watched, my team loses!

In the next couple posts (or until the subject changes) we shall predict what the headlines will be if Bears win the Super-bowl. The winner will gain self-esteem, or whatever.

"Worst QB To Win a Super-Bowl"

"Easiest Super-bowl Won by a QB"

Anyone?

I can't figure why they're not. I was looking forward to watching my team come grotesquely close to tying the Super Bowl and heading to overtime, but falling just short.

On the TOP, I love those types of offense. Some people call them boring, but there's nothing like watching a running back hit the holes created by his line all the way down the field.

"Bears Win Super Bowl Despite UnBEARably Bad QB Play"

Remember the AP story about the Seahawk game. the beginning of the story read: "Two swings of the foot by Robbie Gould were all the Chicago Bears needed to offset any shortcomings in Rex Grossman's arm."

Yeah Robbie Gould helped the Bears overcome Rex Grossman 282 yard passing game including a 68 yard td pass to Bernard Berrian.

BUT THE WORST OF THEM ALL IS DON BANKS OF SI!!! What a moron and an irresponsible journalist. Before the "Worst QB of alltime" article. He wrote this in his Bears-Seahawks recap. "But he threw a costly interception at the Seattle 5 early in the fourth quarter, lost a fumble late in the first half on a Julian Peterson strip and sack, and threw his only scoring pass (a 68-yard strike to a wide-open Bernard Berrian) in the second quarter.

This is what is called rhetoric. First, that "costly" interception was a 5 yard in to Muhammad that hit him square in the chest! Then he writes "wide open" Berrian. Im pretty sure that ball was perfectly thrown in stride. It wasnt like it was the classic Cade Mcnown 40 yard duck to Marcus Robinson. Also in the story he wrote about how "good enough" Grossman made only one big play (30 yard to Davis), and that numerous passes that were thrown off his back foot "cost" the bears the chance to win the game.

"With the game hanging in the balance in the second half, Grossman threw a collection of ill-advised passes off his back foot, repeatedly putting the Bears' playoff lives at risk." Actually, Don, Grossman orchestrated 2 drives in the forth quarter that didnt result in points because of drops(the muhammad interception and the Berrian drop pass).

This is just one of the many examples of the national media reaching to write a negative article about a 26 year old qb in his first full season taking his team to the super bowl with a franchise who has one hall of fame qb in its 86 years of existence, and he played 60 years ago.

Honestly, that makes me sick. That's one of the main reasons I got out of my Journalism major, because I couldn't imagine having to work with clowns like that (or even worse, perhaps becoming a clown like that).

Well, that all but ensures a Bear will get arrested next week. My money's on Tank Johnson.

nah, he knows another strike and he is toast. Bears are a young team though, and they are in a city of temptation, I have a bad feeling one of them is gonna run into some trouble.

Alright, it's 2 AM, and I don't feel like going back and reading the last five to seven pages of posts that I've missed tonight. But I thought some of you would find this interesting. Me and a couple buddies of mine went out to Kendall's Bar on Lincoln tonight (right by DePaul), and we were there for quite some time. A buddy of mine that I haven't seen for a few months walks over and says, "Hey, get a load of hippie Orton over there." And we all laughed thinking there was some guy that looked like Kyle Orton in the bar. But no, sure enough, we were sitting at the table next to Kyle Orton the whole night, and no one even noticed. Actually, I should say... no one even cared. My buddy kept bumping into him and calling him a jackass the whole time for taking up so much space. Even after we saw him, we made a few jokes about how he shouldn't be at the bar, because the Bears might need him as a replacement waterboy, and then went back to our beers. The bar even played "Bear Down" over the soundsystem, and turned the light on above his table, and still, no one seemed to notice or care. Just thought that was funny.

Ouch.

Ah well, he'll be laughing all the way to the bank.

And then he'll be out of the NFL. I sorta feel for the guy, but honestly, he's a pretty horrible QB.

He's also made an ass of himself enough times that he should have the self-respect (or the shame?) to quit getting lit in public.

So this guy has to hide in shame because there are pictures of him being drunk? And this hasn't happened to every other college student ever?

Why should he be publicly shamed?

I didn't say he should be publicly shamed, and in that situation, I do sort of feel for him. I think he should have the self-shame to quit fueling it, however.

The stuff he has done, I have done, probably worse, all caught on tape or in a photo, and im a nothing... that story was sad for me. Orton did nothing wrong. I would have at least thought of buying him a beer.
