Also, should those of us who will be rooting for the Saints start our own thread so we're not verbally attacked in this one if the Bears are losing? This also goes for any potential celebrating if the Saints are winning since I'm sure none of you Bears fans want to read things like that.

At least I said IF the Bears are losing.

That's probably a good idea actually.

Why do you have to act so smug?

Pretty funny considering he almost got a timeout for trolling in a Bears game thread not too long ago. But hey, better start another thread so he doesn't get "verbally attacked" in this thread. Bears fans just can't help themselves.

Seriously, what a petty comment. Everyone has been discussing things fine in this thread.

I don't understand how that is acting smug. Please explain. Nowhere did I say the Saints would win or the Bears would lose. Nor did I say one bad thing about the Bears or a good thing about the Saints. I was simply stating that IF the Bears lose, some of you might not be too pleased with those of us rooting for the Saints celebrating. I do not see how that is smug in any way. I happen to think the Saints will win but am in no way guaranteeing a victory.

I happen to remember ndistops talking about getting verbally attacked when he was celebrating Notre Dame coming back and beating UCLA a couple weeks ago.

And I was far from trolling in that Bears game thread a couple weeks back.

But before it gets out of hand, I'm not discussing this again. Sorry I even brought it up. I'll even edit my original post out if you want me to.

That's what I took offense to. The fact that you assumed Bear fans are all a bunch of jerks that will attack an opposing fan.

Calm down, people. It's fine. I have no problem with Saints fans lamenting their loss in this thread next weekend. Neither should the rest of Bears fans.

Amen. Part of the fun of sports is the ability to talk trash with other fans (without being a total ass). I'm confident the Bears will do a good job shutting up you Saints fans on Sunday.

The funny thing is, you guys (Saints fans & Saints bandwagoners) might not even realize that what you're doing in these game threads is not that different from Cards fans coming into, say, a Cubs/Cards game threads on here and cheering for the Cards. Some people find that really annoying, even trollish, and I can totally understand why. Granted, this is a Cubs site, not a Bears site, but it's not THAT far off as an analogy.

I don't really have any problem with it, though. I love watching people eat crow.

Anyone know how Reggie Bush and Deuce do on grass as compared to artificial turf?

Big factor, if you ask me.

Deuce is averaging 17 carries, 62 yards, and 3.7ypc with 1 touchdown, and 1.5 receptions for 10 yards in his 6 games on grass this year.

Bush is averaging 12 carries, 44 yards, and 3.6ypc, and 5 receptions for 42 yards in his 6 games on grass.

You know what the good part is? The entire city of Chicago can cheer for the Bears. It isnt like Cubs or White Sox playoffs where most fans (except bandwagons) are split, everyone can come together on this one.

That being said, I have no idea on what to expect from this game. I'm thinking I should keep my expectations low, because of they lose, I wont be as upset if my expectations were high.

There's only one real source that credits the Bears so far, too. SI... *sigh*

Is that typically how their carries split up? I probably shouldn't be so lazy and look it up myself.

Seems like a low total. Wondering if they might've gotten fewer carries in those games for whatever reason.

Whatever, it probably doesn't mean a whole lot anyway, but there definitely seems to be a difference between those numbers and their overall numbers. Such a small sample size that it could be a result of anything, though.

It doesn't matter where my expectations are, I'll be more than upset with a loss.

That being said, my expectations are through the roof. I like building myself up for a huge downfall.

Deuce averages 15 carries a game, 66 yards, 4.3 ypc, and 2 receptions for 12 yards.

Bush averages 10 carries a game, 35 yards, 3.6 ypc, and 5.5 receptions, 46 yards.

I'm the same way. Without the horrible lows, we'd never be able to fully appreciate the tremendous highs. Go Bears.

For what it's worth, Drew Brees is averaging 306 yards and 2 td's outside of New Orleans this year.

So apparently Shawn Payton's sister & neice live here in Skokie.

Heh, small world.

He went to Naperville Central.

I dont know about you guys, but I've been constantly thinking about the Bears. Its like the 2003 NLCS mentality.. we're 1 win away from the final step.. and I really hope the Chicago team succeeds this time.

It just occurred to me how ridiculous it's going to be on here if the Bears do make the Super Bowl, and that led to me realizing it's going to be 20-30 times as crazy if the Cubs ever make the playoffs again...

It would be nice, no?
