You would never think that the Saints barely squeaked by a Donovan McNabless Eagle team at home.

Kinda like how the Bears barely squeaked by the Bucs at home?

Do you mean the meaningless regular season game after the Bears already clinched?

I believe the Bears had not clinched by that time yet.

Bears hadn't clinched yet and besides, hurling around that the Saints barely squeaked past the Eagles at home really isn't an insult considering that the Bears barely squeaked past the Seahawks at home, a team that is arguably inferior to the Eagles.

I want the Bears to win, if for no other reason than to shut up the sports media "Saints are playing for the Katrina victims" BS. Listen, it's great that all the CEO's and doctors and lawyers who can afford NFL tickets in N.O. have a good team to go and see, but all the money that was put back into the Superdome would have been better served to, oh, I don't know, rebuild the thousands of homes that are still destroyed. You know, those people who had to evacuate and nearly 18 months later still can't come back? Yeah, football is great, it's a great story with the Saints, but stop linking it to Katrina. It's really embarassing

No reason for the Saints to be be bragging about how they beat the Eagles. They won a tight game, as did the Bears.

All I hear is how the Bears bearly beat the Seahwaks.

Let's get it on.

Just don't pin ANY of that on Saints fans and think we want to win because of that or think that we should win because of Katrina. We want people to know that we are a good TEAM, not a good story. So, don't take that out on Saints fans. We are like Cubs fans in a sense.

You're as bitter as Joe Pa. Of course I agree, but the arrival of Drew Brees is hardly as emotional to talk about.

What Saints fans are bragging? We're thankful we got past the Eagles.

Fair enough. Maybe I am reading/seeing too much media crap.

We've got an entire week of all of this horsepoop.

I hear ya OleMissCub. I know some Saints fans, and they want the same thing. But unfortunately, the media will probably try to play the Saints off as the "feel good team", and the Bears as the weakest team out there. It's already begun, just go anywhere on ESPN.com. The Gene Wojo article is a great example. Or watch Dan Roan on WGN refer to the Saints as the "team of destiny", or "America's hopefuls." (Both of which he said during their highlights.) The Saints are a damn good team, and people should be talking about that.

It's kind of like what happened when the DBacks played the Yankees in the series after 9/11. After the coverage of that series, I could've sworn Curt Schilling and Randy Johnson were hitmen for the mob, and that Bob Brenley killed Santa Claus.

They're going to try to make any Saints playoff game out to be more than just a football game. And I feel bad for true Saints fans because of it.

Well, I am surrounded by lifelong Saints fans and we hate this media-Katrina related bullsh*t. Just imagine if, god-forbid, a terrorist attack happened in Chicago, and two years later the Cubs had a GREAT team and finally got to the World Series. We'd be pissed about all the "they're playing for the city" stuff, wouldn't we?

Did anybody see the Saints website?

http://www.neworleanssaints.com/

A huge mugshot of Urlacher is the main story, with the words "WHO DATS! VS. 'DA BEARS IN NFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME" running over it.

On ESPN.com NFL section poll, the question is "Who will win Superbowl XLI?" Bears are last with 12% of the vote, Saints 25%, Colts 29%, Patriots 34%.

Aren't they ripping off the "Who Dey?" of last year's Bengals?

I think I'll be avoiding most major media outlets for this week.

That was for last week. I wanna see their faces after 90% of them being proven wrong.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. The Bengals are the ones who ripped it off. "Who Dat?" comes from a song that came out in 1981 called "Who dat say dey gonna beat dem Saints?"

And for those arguing about how "the Saints barely beat the Eagles" or "the Bears barely beat the Bucs", you do realize that using that as an arguement is pretty useless. The beauty of sports being that teams just seem to match up differently each and every single time, rendering those "well you barely beat so and so" a moot point (but if you'd like to play that game, the Saints ALSO only beat the Bucs by three points this season and lost to the lowly Redskins). Agreed, it'd be just as ridiculous to use the fact that the Panthers swept the Saints this year.

(Ok, I just wanted an excuse to bring that up. :D Go Saints!)

They will just move on and ignore what they said wrong in the past. They always do.

Wikipedia disagrees with you. They say it was a Bengals chant in 1981, and Who Dey is also the name of the Bengals mascot apparently.

Why are you thanking me? I'm the one who informed him about the past.
