I am refraining from voting because there is no way I can make a choice between Buck and Morgan

I should have created a terrifying option named Joe Buckgan

It has to be Buck. Most of those guys are paid to give their opinions about what happens, and they're terrible at it. Buck is terrible at it, it's not even his job, and yet he still editorializes all the time.

"That's a DISGUSTING act by Randy Moss, and it's unfortunate we had it on our air live!"

I had to vote for Walton simply because of his commentary during the Jordan-era NBA Finals. If you listened to him, you seriously would have thought that Phil Jackson and Michael Jordan not only killed his dog, but had carnal relations with the corpse, set it ablaze, brought the dog back to life and killed it all over again.

Sometimes hippies should stay in the 60s.

The Hawk should be on there.

I voted for Buck, but mostly based on the fact that he does two sports, which makes him doubly annoying. (The worst is when he assumes that he knows what players are thinking... "Grossman is thinking that he really needs to pick it up here" etc).

That being said, Joe Morgan has a greater "annoyance to minutes on air" ratio.

If Buck wasn't a Cardinal fan I bet he would have 1/4 of the votes he has right now

No, he also hates the Bears. :D

I seriously, seriously don't care if the announcer hates my team. Seriously, what does it matter? Half of it is just thin skinned fans taking any criticism as "Oh NOES!!! He hates my team!!111!"

He goes out of his way. Don't tell me you have no idea what I'm talking about.

I don't mute national telecasts because the radio doesn't match up and I want the guys to at least attempt to give me some objective analysis, or at least as close as they can get. I don't think Buck does that or is capable of that.

clearly it hasn't been so egregious that I've noticed it. I'm sure if you're going into the broadcast thinking "this guy hates my team, just wait till he says something!" then yeah, you'll hear all sorts of stuff.

I hate Stephen A. Smith. He's a pompous know-it-all who knows absolutely squat. I mean, they're asking him for analysis and he gives it to you like you killed his mother.

"What do you think about the Bulls, Stephen"

"Well gee, I don't know, they're THE BULLS, what do YOU think?!"

On ESPN's Mike and Mike this morning they were talking about the 30,000th Sports Center and the effect of announcers. Vitale was talking about being able to do education and entertain (E&E) and then talked about baseball being boring when an analyst talks about where a base runners feet should be. He wanted more stories about the experiences a player has had instead of that kind of analyisis. I found that a contradiction of what he said, education of how to take a lead is just as or more important than stories and to say that isn't part of the education is just plain wrong. Personally, I want both (stories and technical) from an analyst. I also want the play by play guy to do their job and let the sport be the story and not them. Harry wasn't a guy like that but he was a homer and I'm talking more about a national audience type of thing. I don't want some preachy guy like Buck or somebody who has to make up rhymes like Berman.

buck may be a homer, but mccarver is a [expletive]. the fact that buck comes with mccarver led me to vote for him over joe morgan.
