You know call me a homer, but if the choice is between the Mariners and the Cubs, I really think the Cubs are in a better position for success in 2007.

It depends on if he wants to win or go him.

on the other hand, if winning is his first priority, he probably wouldn't sign with a team that hasn't won a World Series in 100 years.

Well, it's not like the Mariners 0 championships in their history is going to suggest to him a winning team either.

Offer him Josie Maran...he'd sign so fast it would make your head swim.

Is Truffle willing to give her up?

hell no. not negotiable.

I'll offer up Giorgia Palmas, but you'll have to throw in a hottie to be named later.

You're not saving your lady for the likes of Miguel Cabrera?

Its funny how when one rumor from one sourse gets spread into 10 rumors from 20 sources very quickly simply because people don't listen or read fully.

OMG, Hendry's bringing us to war with Iraq!

How 'bout the Cubs? Don't you think 97 yrs is enough to get over the hangover of the last one?

Rotoworld's update:

Jason Schmidt-S-Giants Nov. 29 - 12:21 am et

Sources told the Chicago Tribune that reports the Cubs made Jason Schmidt a three-year offer worth $44 million-$45 million were false.

Though they have interest in the right-hander, the Cubs are not believed to have made a solid offer, the paper reports.

Shouldn't the Chicago tribune know if the Chicago Tribune made an offer?

The Cubs have NOT made an offer to Schmidt, and whoever leaked it, prolly jumped the gun.

CT should apologize to Bruce, lol.

This thread has become as bad as Cubs.com. I have a list of about a dozen points to refute/discuss but everyone is so positive of their guesses and assumptions, and a coherent discussion has been so far derailed, that I think attempting to would be asinine. Oh well.
