They should be able to provide some sort of evidence that they agreed to this deal prior to the deadline to save the extra free agent signing.

 

If not, Hendry is an idiot. :D

 

Although I am happy, all Hendry has done is keep the status quo. Now the REAL work begins.

 

I can't wiat for DisgruntledCubFan to post his reaction to the news.

Im guessing it was signed before the FA deadline. The Cubs may have actually used that to there advantage. Told Aram take this money or risk not coming back because we can only sign 2 Type A's and we are going to sign Soriano and Zito and wont be able to offer you a contract let alone a 5 year deal. Now that probably didnt happen and i really dont care but im still saying he wont cost Type A status.

I think you could apply that to just about every sports peson that has reported on the negiogiations.

Not I. And I'm glad I didn't sit here waiting it out. I admit that I read every post in this thread, but I would have gone nuts sitting there waiting for the final hour. The wife and I went furniture shopping and then we watched the Star Wars marathon on Skinemax.

Seriously , with feet back on the floor we are still a really bad team but we would've been in such a hole if we'd lost Aram. realistically lets get some pitching give D-lee and Aram the bat they deserve to spport them and get some positive vibes going through the Org.

Now that ARam has signed, please give me at least Drew, Giles or Lugo and another top SP please. (I would prefer Schmidt if not I would take Lilly over Padilla)

I think that lineup is VERY solid IMO. Pitching wise.. Schmidt would be a good pickup if he would do 3 years. Lilly would be a nice addition IMO.

 

Z, Schmidt, Hill, Lilly, Miller.

 

I don't know if we have enough money to make all these moves but if we want to win this is what we would have to be looking at..
