5/73 according to ChicagoSports.com. Wonder if that includes a buyout.

Wood gets a $1.75 million base with incentives that could bump it up to as much as $7.75 million. I'd have to assume that's if he gets back into the rotation.

Or gets a ton of saves.

Must have been the hometown discount. Not quite the 7/119 Kinzer hinted at.

Wood at 1.75 sounds good. I was guessing 2.5 - 3.

Haha. I go out for a while to watch a movie and come back to find this. All that bickering and promising to inject heroin into foreheads I made was premature I guess.

THANK GOD.

Seriously. PHEW.

Hendry gets some credibility back, and now we still have a chance next year!!

wow, I have some mad respect for Aram. Me personally I would have jumped this sinking ship and took the extra $$$ that Hendry wouldn't give me.

Seriously, what does he see in this team? Oh well, don't look a gift horse in the mouth.

You mean games finished....can't have performance stats induce bonuses. Dempster finished a few games this year that he didn't exactly save.

Neve count out a team with a payroll of $115M. See the 2006 NY Mets.

I think he could have made alot more in Anahiem via endrosements as well,

given the very high Latin population.

I just can't repeat how happy this makes me. I really thought he got away.

YESSSSSS

PS. This thread deserves to get to 100 pages...

Do Mexicans typically identify with Latins from other regions such as DR?

I went on a serious rant here about the greed of Aramis Ramirez and how stupid i thought it would have been for the Cubs to resign him to anything more than 6/90. I'd like to apologize to Aramis for basically calling him a money hungry jerk, he really did prove me wrong. The extra 20 million he could have gotten gaurenteed obviously wasn't enough for him to leave the Cubs.

Jim Hendry said:He said manager Lou Piniella and pitching coach Larry Rothschild are in agreement that Dempster can return to form as a closer, following a disappointing season in '06.

this is the scariest part of that article. maybe they are just being nice though.

this is a good day. i don't ever ever ever want to hear people complain about aramis' 'lack of hustle' and all that other carp on media outlets such as the score. its a ridiculous concept and he proves that he wasn't just out for the cash by turning it on at the end of the year.
