Can we simulcast this thread over on General Discussion? That'd help ease confusion. :D

A little under two hours until it gets under way...

40 minutes for me!

Students not finishing an assignment on time? Unheard of!

SHOCKING!

But you'd think seniors in high school, who I know are nowhere near as busy as I in many respects, could find the time to type up a three page paper, considering they already had it written. Whatever, I enjoy the free lab-time.

EDIT: Irony- complaining about people not finishing a writing assignment properly, in a post filled with errors.

I taught seniors my first year. I feel confident saying that they made more excuses in that one year about not completing papers and assignments than all my middle schoolers have in the past five years.

As a high scool senior last year, I would have to say, yes, I believe that.

I posted a sticky in that forum, directing to this thread.

Reactio is Latin for "to react". :D

Wouldn't it be a shocker if Hendry steps down today as well?

I was just discussing this with some of my fellow mods...heh. I doubt it happens, but I'm openly praying for it.

If that happens, Gary Hughes would be the GM for the next year at least. Does anyone here really want that to happen?

Well, then all the Gary Hughes apologists would finally shut up about how much of a great baseball guy he is and how much he deserves a GM job.

At the expense of a lost season? I'd rather listen to the apologists.

It could be a lost season either way.

I'm not saying I want Hughes, not by any stretch. But if Dusty, Jim and Andy are all gone, I'm not convinced they will go with all in house hires anyway.

The Gary Hughes Fan Club = quite a niche-y fan club. :)

I'm just thinking that they promoted McDonough from within for 1 year. If they dumped Hendry, they'd likely promote from within if only to prevent a hiring process that would hold up the ARam negotiations as well as the FA period planning. If they go internal, it's going to be Hughes.

Here's whats going to happen:

Hendry and Baker are having lunch and Hendry has tears in his eyes as he tells Baker, "I just dont see where this relationship is going." Then out of nowhere McDonough's theme music kicks in in typical WWE fashion, he comes out, gives both of them a DX crotch chop, and fires them both.

.....I only watch wrestling because its funny.....seriously.

Couldn't they transfer Hendry to another position? I mean, they're gonna have to pay him anyway, so why not leave him in as "Special Assistant to the GM" and whatnot, let him re-negotiate A-Ram's deal, while the Cubs look openly for his replacement?

I was expecting something involving a steel chair and two tables.

Well thats a given. I cut the story off a little short before getting into how Baker and Hendry will take McDonough out with those chairs and tables, setting up a cage match between Baker/Hendry and McDonough/Fredi Gonzalez.

Where can I watch/listen to the press conference?

I put a sticky up in this forum with links to WGN Radio, ESPN1000 and The Score, all of whom have said they'll be carrying the press conference live.

I haven't heard whether it will be televised.
