Chicago Cubs Vice President and General Manager Jim Hendry today announced that the Cubs have declined to renew the contract of manager Dusty Baker.

 

Baker, 57, compiled a 322-326 (.497) record in four seasons as the Cubs skipper from 2003-2006, including a 66-96 mark this season. Baker has compiled a 1,162-1,041 managerial record in 15 seasons with the San Francisco Giants (1993-2002) and the Cubs.

 

In his first season with Chicago, Baker helped the Cubs reach the National League Championship Series, where they lost to the Florida Marlins, four-games-to-three.
