Posted

[spot starting for CR, while he is away. hopefully I don't mess up the mojo, i'll blame him for asking me; though]

Sunday Night Football against the NFC Champs. This will be the 2nd challenge of the year, and all the mistakes of last weeks game won't turn out as well this time.

We have to run better this week. I want to see Benson get a chance. Give him 15 carries. I know the biggest problem has been the line, but it just isn't working with TJ.

Shaun Alexander hasn't done much this year. I think we can keep him in check. Early prediction: Bears 24 - Seahwks 17. Seattle has so many offenseive weapons, it will be hard to hold them under 17 points. I think Rex can pass on Seattle.

Rex Grossman - 23/35, 257 yards, 2 TDs/1 INT

If Bears can win this one, then I think its not hard to believe that this years Chicago Bears are something special.

Probably the biggest game of the regular season. Again Bears, please win!

Agreed on all points.

i too would like cedric to get a chance, but until he steps up his pass blocking, he's never going to play against teams that blitz like the vikes do.

Benson, please. I have a feeling after their subpar showing today, the Bears will come in and win next week.

word.

Chris Harris got benched because they said D. Manning was better.

Well they need to be fair because right now Thomas Jones terrible.

Rex would've been on the ground soooo much more today with Benson in there. The Vikings were blitzing hard and often, and I recall reading that Benson just isn't as good at blocking yet.

While Benson might not be that good at blocking, he can't be as bad as

Jason McKie who was in there blocking on many pass plays.

McKie is simply a terrible blocker.

I'm going to predict the same score that I did for the Vikes...

Bears 24, Seahawks 9. The defense keeps their O out of the end zone.

Comments from Jeremy Shockey about the Seahawks, in the middle of a rant that included criticizing the Giants coaching...

"They were in different defenses than we thought they were going to be in. They did different things that we haven't seen," he said. "You can make adjustments all you want, but when they do new things and they switch things up, you really can't do anything."

I hope the Bears are ready for that...

I think the biggest difference is, you can't audible in a stadium like the Seahawks have because of the noise level. So the Giants really had no chance.

We'll be able to audible next week.

Now----whether or not Rex is ready and able to make those audibles? That's a different story entirely.

Early line has the Bears giving 2.5 points, a very low number for a home team. I'm guessing the experts go hard after the Seahawks on this one.

My early feeling is that the Bears lose this one, but that might change.

I think they scrape this one out, but I'm not overly confident about it. I'm afraid of our pass defense getting torched.

Thomas Jones needs to run north south. all that dancing is very ineffective.

This is going to be a tough one. Soldier Field is going to be rocking though. Seatle didn't play well against Detroit on the road and the Hawks usually dominate at home. Hopefully they'll stumble this weekend.

T. Jones needs to stop dancing.

T. Jones needs to stay on the bench.

Fixed.

Here's pulling for that homefield advantage to really be a factor! This game may have big implications on whose stadium we're playing in if we face Seattle in the playoffs. IF we win this one, I can't see the Bears going worse than 13-3. If we lose, I think our worse case scenario is 11-5. I have a hard time seeing Seattle doing any worse than 12-4. If they beat us, I predict they'll finish no worse than 13-3 at years end.

This is the first game of the season I don't have confidence the Bears will win. Home field advantage may be the key. If it was in Seattle, I'd be picking the Seahawks.

Bears 20

Seattle 17

I wasn't able to see much of the Bears/Vikings game, but I did record it. My recording stopped with about 7 minutes left in the 4th quarter.

I will get to watch the Sunday night game.
