I bet Boston feels stupid.

What an amazing trade for the Marlins. Got one of the best SS in the NL with a great young pitcher for an overpaid overrated starter. Got them a WS, blew out his arm, sold him high.

That last sentence depresses me :(

I watched the last 2 innings of that. It was beautiful. I am going to spend the last 3 weeks salvaging the baseball season pulling for the Marlins. If nothing else, maybe it'll open the old gaurd in baseball up to playing young players.

It was less than a week ago when I started the "who will be the next pitcher to throw a no hitter" thread. No one said Annibel Sanchez - believe it or not.

I don't know who Annibel Sanchez is but I was considering saying Anibal Sanchez would be the next to throw a no-hitter but decided against it.

As a Cubs fan, are you allowed to do that?

ha ha, he has a girly name. . . . . .

I'm loving the Marlins run. I'm a huge wild card hater, but this year I hope the Marlins win it all.

Not me...if they make the playoffs, then there's a greater chance Girardi is back with then next year. I want him on the market so we have a shot at him.

anytime it happens its awesome, congrats, some of the very best have never tossed a no no

i hate the marlins just because of 2003 but deep down inside i love what they are doing because they are doing it with a 14 million dollar payroll and showing the cubs up, also i cant help but like girardi

the marlins now have 4 no hitters and 2 world series championships in 14 years

The only Marlins that remain from the 03 team, that I can think of, are Willis and Cabrera.

I'm definitely hoping they win the Wild Card. It would be an absolutely amazing story. It's like the real version of Major League except instead of the Indians, it's the Fish.

The Marlins are the anti-cubs. Luckiest team ever.

I wish that was luck, but they have collected ALOT of legit talent.

Sanchez and Ramirez were the Red Sox top two prospects in many eyes. Nolasco was HUGELY underrated by the Cubs orginization.

Not only that but guys like Willingham, Olsen, Hermida, Uggla were some highly touted prospects. Not to mention Willis and Cabrera.

I'm jealous of the young talent on that team. Olsen is Scott Kazmir lite, Sanchez showed some nasty stuff today, Ramirez is one of the most exciting young SSs in the league...and so on.

The Marlins to me are what the Padres were to people 20 years older than me, only the Padres didn't have the unholy spawn of satan as their owner. There's no way I'm pulling for them.

I agree. 4 no hitters and 2 world titles in 11 seasons. For the Cubs, 0 world titles in 98 years and no no hitters for like 30 years. I HATE the Marlins

I hate the cobs.

Even though I'm not sure Girardi is best for the Cubs (I'd still take him), and even though he already was basically fired once, if they win the wild card, is there any way they would fire him? They'll keep him on, even if Loria hates his guts.

And yeah, I had to specify that the spawn of satan was in fact unholy.

Nolasco will settle in as a back of the rotation guy, imo. His peripherals are not impressive.
