Eddie Johnson just got STUFFED on a PK

 

Celtic's keeper has been very impressive.

 

He is as impressive as Johnson is unimpressive. He is huge though, that shot he took off the face looked like it stung a little.

 

Adu and Altidore need to be up just so Johnson won't be.

I have to admit that I am excited to see Beckham in the MLS. 250,000 jerseys sold to date. Real's director of marketing has said Beckham was worth about $600 million in marketing revenue's for the club.

 

And in light of athletes like Vick, Beckham has always seemed like a great person.

My girlfriend had to go to the Comcast store today to get a new remote control today and I picked up one of their brochures. I found out that I can get a sports package that includes Fox Soccer Channel for just $5 a month. I would also get the NFL Network, NBATV and a few College sports stations. I know what I'm gonna be signing up for.

Since we're in a soccer interregnum for a bit, I thought I'd break out World Soccer Manager 2006 again, only this time as the US National Team Manager.

 

The US still aren't good enough to win, of course, but I'd like to make the quarters again.

 

It's September 2005, and the US just qualified for the World Cup by defeating Mexico 6-1 at the Rose Bowl (US was able to tie Mexico 0-0 at the Azteca).

 

I used this 4-3-1-2 line-up (subs in parenthesis):

 

         McBride             Mathis
                          (Johnson 54)
                 Donovan

Beasley            Reyna            Noonan
                               (Kovalenko 83)
Vanney    Mastroeni    DeMerit      Conrad
(Bocanegra 54)
                  Keller

 

At half time it was 1-1. I didn't like how Mathis was playing, and Vanney was tired. So I subbed early. Johnson scored three goals in half an hour. McBride, Donovan and Reyna all scored as well.

 

Looks like it'll be USA, Mexico, and TT from Concacaf with Guatemala having a go against the Asia team. Of course, I still have both TT at home (and one away against Panama).

i have the same package. the fox college sports stations are generally worthless. my package also comes with goltv.

Rumor is that Adu is wanted by Benfica, who have offered 2.5 mil while MLS wants 7.5 mil.

 

Get it done, morons. Freddy to Superliga would be fantastic.

MLS should hold out for a bit more than $2.5 million. Have there been any other reported offers?

 

LA's new kits look much better than those hideous green and yellow ones.

$2.5 Million is a bit low IMO. However they can't wait too much longer. Hopefully they will just try to get him into the best possible situation.

Galaxy actually playing pretty well and have had two great chances, with one great save by Chek. Cobi Jones has no business being out there though.

Benefica plz. He'd be just as stunted with Celtic as MLS. Too physical of a league. Portugal or Holland would be perfect.

 

BTW - I didn't watch the Celtic/Fire friendly today, but on the FSC highlights he looked like the best player on the field. Shockingly not a stiff as I thought he'd be, but were the highlights misleading?

I don't know. Blanco made a nice move on that goal, yet he still managed to look like a 50-year-old while doing it.

 

That's the only highlight from the game I saw, though.
