Definitely a flop, but he was still holding his ear even after full time was announced, so he must've gotten whacked decently.

This ref is awful, btw. Tangentially, I despise this garbage that these small central and south american countries try to play. Cheap tackles on defense, and Italian level dives on offense, it's disgusting.

 

I hate those freaking team, so freaking cheap. They can't hang with the superior teams so they stoop to this crap.

Fifa highlights are up, but very slow for me. Tons of buffering. Waiting for youtube to pop up. Austria looks to have an imposing defense, so hopefully this was a wakeup call. The US played sloppy vs. Korea and responded very well. I hope for the same response ;-).

Anybody following the other U-20 games today?

 

Brazil was up 2-1 but gave up a goal in the 84th minute and then two in extra time and lost 4-2 to Spain.

 

3 of the 4 goals in the Japan-Czech Republic game were scored via the penalty spot. Japan had a 2-0 lead but gave it away. Both teams had a player red carded and they're now in penalties.

 

EDIT: And the Czech's win 4-3 in the shootout.

Paraguay with the goal after Perks couldn't keep a hold on a header while Suarez followed.

 

That was an extremely weak goal for Uruguay.
