that one time where he bunted to end the game with him being the tying run.

good times all around.

Without a doubt that is my fondest memory of him.

The NSBB get-together game. Total crap.

I'll never understand how Neifi could be so fat in the gut and ass and have stickman legs.

my favorite, was that one time when the cubs were down two in that big game, and the batter in front of neifi walked on four pitches, and neifi rolled into a 4-6-3 on the first pitch. that was awesome!

I like how his stance at the plate made it look like he had a huge, steaming pile in his pants.

And man, that awkward, throw-the-bat-at-the-ball swing at anything low and away...AWESOME.

The 1,000th time he grabbed his crotch in the batter's box, June 7, 2005.

The time he said to Prior or Z or whomever, "you see this golve, it's made of gold. Make him hit it to me" or something like that.

Oh I forgot -- everytime Dusty or Larry went to the mound and Neifi stopped by just to say what's up, or maybe he was translating?

I have no proof of it but I always suspected Dusty really loved Neifi's habit of showing up at every mound conference. I hope Neifi continues this habit in Detroit, where it will likely be viewed less charitably. It'll be like "uh, you're not in Chicago anymore, and we really don't have more than a passing interest in what you have to say. Please stop bothering us."

It's not really a Neifi moment per se, but didn't Todd Walker go to the locker room to get a new jersey during a game this year and accidentally put on one of Neifi's jerseys?

All joking aside..Nefti, was a cool cat. He never asked to start over Todd Walker or anybody else, he knew what he could do. If Baker started him, he would try his best, if he came off the bench, he would do his best. Nefti knew what his role role.

If certain Cubs (or ex Cubs) would have played to their talent level, or to their role was expecting of them, maybe Nefti would not have been needed as much.

I'm glad he was traded, but I don't believe Nefti should be a whipping boy, simply because he did what the coaches asked of him.

I'm sure this has been mention, but does everybody realize that all participants in the 2B contrevesy at the begining of the yr, have all been traded? Hairston (Texas), Walker (San Diego), and Perez (Detroit). Just interesting.

The HR in 1998. The GS against StL is a close second because I was in a room of taunting cards fans at the time. They all started making fun of me when Neifi stepped in the box with the bases juiced. That room got real quiet a few seconds later.

Right after Neifi signed his latest deal with Hendry, someone posted a picture of him from an article on the signing.

The expression on his face just said it all. It was like: "Hey suckers laugh all you want. I'm making millions of dollars. What are you making?"

I'll give him credit for that one...I remember hearing that he said that and was impressed with its badass-ness.

In case anyone cares, Neifi grounded out on 2 pitches in his first two AB's tonight.

Gotta keep your legacy alive, dude.

My favorite was when he peeked at the catchers sign and then hit a HR. You saw his eyes so well on the camera and then boom. I can't remember the team they were playing.
