Pathetic....

that our 4 and 5 hitters can't even make contact with the baseball

.

when your 4 and 5 hitters are Nevin and Jones..you are pretty much screwed.

You can't refer to the walk as having taken the bat out of his hand. What about if a guy singles, steals 2nd and 3rd, and still doesn't score. Just because he didn't score doesn't mean it was bad to single, steal, steal. You take a walk if the pitcher is giving it to you because otherwise you're just swinging at bad balls.

I think the idea was that Davis wouldn't have pitched around Aramis if 1st base weren't open.

I agree with the not swinging at bad balls part, but Aramis probably would've seen better pitches without the double steal.

If Pierre is going to be in a lineup, he'd be more valuable in the 7 or 8 spot, where "small ball" might actually help produce a run every now and then. Why MLB teams feel they need to put traditional leadoff types in front of power hitters is beyond me. Henry Blanco can score from first on a D-Lee homer just as easy as Pierre can.

Fro watching the game today, the only offspeed pitch Prior can get anywhere close to a strike is his 84-86 mph changeup.

Not going to win any games with just that and a 91-92 mph fastball.

He did have the curve working at times over his past two starts, so ... who knows why it's not today. I'm on radio, but what they're saying matches up. Ron is distressed over the lack of breaking balls.

When Prior doesn't have the curveball, he has no margin for error.

Wow.

Prior looks like Jason Bere.

Just for fun I looked up Bere's stats.

93: 12-5 3.47 ERA 142 IP 109 H 129 SO

94 12-2 3.81 ERA 141.7 IP 119 H 127 SO

All downhill after that. Prior headed down the same path?

Prior is done for. I'm convinced now more than ever that he will never be the same pitcher whom was drafted by the Chicago Cubs. His curveball and fastball are just not the same anymore. I feel bad for this guy who was drafted by a 2nd rate organization like this one.

Just got here and see that Prior is still pregnant. How long can a pregnancy last?

If we sign a good pitcher this offseason, does this Mark deserve a rotation spot?

Just turned on the game. Man, Prior looks like crap once again. 88 MPH fastball with no command? What's wrong with him?
