There aren't that many things that are better than Sundays during football season. I can't wait for the season to start.

Watch for Stephen Jackson to have a ridiculous year. Go Rams!

For me, it's all about Saturday's during the fall. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the NFL. But I like college football a bit more.

Most definitely agreed!

Like clockwork.

Dr. Z lists his thoughts on most NFL teams, about 21, but not the Bears. Last year he predicted the Bears to be the worst team in the league, which was one of the most absurd claims ever. He also went about half the season before he included a Bears game in his weekly picks. And I believe it was the 2004 season when he failed to include them ever. It's long been acknowledged that he had some beef with Bears people back in the day, and he's as east coast biased as they come (notice he highlighted all 4 NFC East teams and 3 of 4 AFC East teams). His writing screams "angry old man". Shouldn't a professional football expert try to keep his bias against a team at least partially obscured?

I'm anxious to see his preseason rankings. He obviously can't rank the Bears last, but I'm wondering if he'll do something like rank them behind the Vikings or something.

He's still upset at Charleston Heston for screwing up his world domination plans.

T.O. has returned to practice for the Cowboys.

This is good news, but Glenn and Crayton are still out. I'm a bit worried, hopefully everything sorts themselves out eventually.

I'm not as worried about Crayton as I am Glenn. I think Hurd can offer as much production as Crayton will.

Glenn is only having problems with blisters, so I think he'll be fine. Crayton has a high ankle sprain of the same ankle that he broke last year. Hurd has looked pretty good, but he did drop a few balls in the opener and I don't like relying on a rookie. Hurd has shown some good potential, but at least with Crayton we know what we're getting; Hurd is still an untested player.

He didn't review the Raiders either. Personally, I'm offended because it should have taken him all of 5 seconds to come up with: "Aaron Brooks = 5-11".

Parcells calls TO trained pig! TO counters by doing an infomercial! More to follow! Billy boy is going to have to use comedy with the press because this guy is going to drive him nuts.

Some other [expletive] from yahoo sports offered to eat his laptop if the Bears won the division last year. Maybe the two should meet. They can discuss their jilted Bear love with each other, and spare the rest of us.

Junior Seau has un-retired and signed with the Patriots.

Darn, I was really hoping we could get a draft pick out of them for Shanle after the whole scout swap deal.

ROSENHAUS TAKES UP FOR T.O.

Want more proof that the situation between Cowboys coach Bill Parcells and receiver Terrell Owens is dangerously close to an implosion? Look no farther than Sunday's appearance by agent Drew Rosenhaus on ESPN's SportsCenter, in which Rosenhaus gives the media a tongue lashing for putting pressure on Owens to practice while suffering from a "serious injury."

Said Rosenhaus, to Bob Ley: "I represent approximately eighty players in the NFL, and many of them are injured and most of them don't have injuries that are as serious as Terrell's and they don't get any flak. I think this is a non-story. Terrell Owens has a serious injury. He has a pulled hamstring. He is coming off of this injury to the best of anyone's ability and I think that the pressure that has been placed on him by the media is just ridiculous.

"Let me just state it again: He is injured. He wants to practice. He wants to play. Let me remind everybody about what he did at the Super Bowl a few years ago where he came off of an injury that people thought might have been career threatening. It's ludicrous to suspect that he's doing anything but working at his hardest to come back. Terrell loves to practice. People have criticized him in the past for many things but no one has ever said that he doesn't love to work and love to practice. He is hurt, and he's still hurt."

By focusing his attention solely on the media, Rosenhaus ignores the fact that Cowboys owner Jerry Jones recently urged Owens to practice at less than 100 percent. Likewise, it's been no secret that coach Bill Parcells has been frustrated by Owens' failure to practice on a hamstring that showed no damage in an MRI. Indeed, Mike Silver of Sports Illustrated reported last week that Owens' Wednesday return to practice was the direct result of a direct order from the Tuna to the team's trainer that Owens will be on the field the next day.

Owens then practiced on Wednesday through Saturday morning, before retreating to his stationary bike for the afternoon session. On Saturday night, we heard that Owens is now claiming that the premature resumption of practice resulted in an aggravation of the injury, that he won't come back until he believes that he is at 100 percent, and that he might miss the first game of the regular season as he heals.

Most telling regarding his agent's comments, in our view, is the fact that Rosenhaus speaks in the present tense. "Terrell Owens has a serious injury. . . . He is injured."

Our take? It's a deliberate effort by Owens, through Rosenhaus, to defuse any further criticism from the media -- or from anyone associated with the team -- when Owens fails to dress out for practice on Wednesday, the team's next scheduled practice session, and beyond.

And it's further proof that a real battle is looming between Owens and Parcells, which still could result (we believe) in Owens' name being omitted from the 53-man roster. If the Cowboys release him before the start of the regular season, the team would avoid responsibility for $5 million in salary, which otherwise will become fully guaranteed as of September 10.

We also think that the decision of Rosenhaus to stick his nose into the situation will serve only to aggravate Parcells, and could made it easier for the Tuna to persuade Jones that the team should cut its losses by cutting T.O.

I give it till week 3 before Roy Williams beats the living hell out of him.

Go Fins. That is all.

:D

Daunte looked great yesterday, and Harrington looks to be a more than capable backup. Not concerned with the offense much at all. Whether this is a 9 win team or a 11-13 win team will depend on the development of the defensive backs--got burned in the first game, and not so much in game 2. I want to see what Jason Allen is like when he's really game ready.

Big Daddy looked awesome, though. The Dolphins' line rotation is ferocious. The league isn't ready to see so much Sam from Jason Taylor.

Dallas with a very nice showing sans TO against the Saints last night. The catch Glenn made over McKenzie in the end zone was spectacular!

That was an amazing catch. Dallas' offense looked very good and when Bledsoe was the QB. I wasn't able to watch the second half (went out to dinner) so I'm not saying Romo didn't look good. But Bledsoe was on last night.

Romo looked good from what I saw too with the exception of a fumble he had. Bledsoe is starter, but its Romo's come next season.

Lelie finally traded

The Broncos agreed to terms early Tuesday evening on a three-way deal that will send Lelie to the Atlanta Falcons once the paperwork is completed. The Falcons will send, according to two league sources, running back T.J. Duckett to the Washington Redskins and the Redskins will send a combination of draft picks to the Broncos.

Based on the two teams' finish in the upcoming season the Broncos, at best, could end up with the Redskins' first- and third-round picks in the 2007 draft if the Redskins finish with a worse record than the Broncos.

In that scenario the Broncos and Redskins would flip-flop first-round picks with Denver moving up and the Redskins moving down. The Broncos would then get the Redskins third-round pick as well.

2nd straight year the Broncos have bent the redskins' front office backwards. If the redskins fall flat on their faces, we might get a top 10 pick out of Ashley Lelie.

Wow.

Go Eagles/Giants/Everyone but Washington in NFC
