Oh great, I'm glad the injury bug is taking up residence in Charlotte for a third straight year. Kris Jenkins had a back injury too, I wonder if he'll miss the whole year for three years in a row.

I could very quickly get bitter about football.

Just become a seahawks fan and you will be all right

Just came across this fledgling NFL discussion site. I think it started up last night, and it already has a decent amount of discussion. A few posters look promising too. Check it out.

And by 'promising' he means 'Bears fans'

LOL... That's true... But I've noticed decently intelligent discussion, so far. Much better than the crap on the Bears.com and other team website forums.

EDIT - Go ahead and join though, ndi. They could use Panther fans too. :)

hah! Suck it Chiefs fans.

Roaf really stuck it to them, after saying numerous times he was going to play this season he retires right before training camp. Losing both their starting tackles is going to be hard to overcome.

Fortunately, I have absolutely no expectations whatsoever for the Raiders this year so I'm not worried about any devastating injuries. They aren't going to make the playoffs with Aaron "I throw the ball backwards" Brooks at quarterback. 6-10 here we come.

One of the most underrated units in the NFL will be the Bears receiver corps. If BB, and Mark are healthy they will be one good unit. Then "throw in" Mush, Rashied, Airese, and Gage and we'll have a stable of diverse receivers.

I am so syked about this team I can't even put it into words.

Since most everyone here is from Illinois, did anyone ever watch Sam Hurd and if so what were your thoughts on him? So far in Cowboys' camp he's look very impressive. He's been catching everything in sight, and has also made a number of nice leaping/diving grabs as well. With both TO and Glenn out, he's made it up to 1st team offense for the time being. Something amazing IMO is that TO has actually taken Hurd under his wing, staying late after practice working with him on catching and other fundamentals.

The progress that Hurd made from his junior season to his senior season was unbelievable. Never in a million years during his junior season did I believe that he could become a guy that would catch passes from an NFL QB. He put in a lot of determination and hard work in the offseason before his senior season, and he was in top physical shape and seemed to care a lot more about the game. He had an outstanding season last year for NIU and he showed me last year that he had the talent to be an NFL wideout. His hands also improved as he dropped several passes in his sophomore and junior season, but I don't remember him having a key drop last year.

I was really surprised that Sam wasn't drafted, considering how tall he is and considering how strong he is..he's definitely a guy that I thought could surprise some, and it looks like he is already doing that in Dallas.

Apparently, Lendale White is getting along well with his new teammates.

Great. We already wasted an early first rounder last year on a punk (Pacman Jones) return man. I was afraid when we took LenDale something like this would happen. Oh well, at least there will be a little action this season as we take our learning curve to a 4-12 season again. At least we've got Vince Young. It'll be fun to watch him around the second half of the year.

Is Vince Young the starter this year?

He probably won't open the season as the starter, Billy Volek is a pretty good QB and has a solid base in that offense. Young probably will become the starter at some point but he still has several adjustments he needs to make to his game to adapt it to the pro level.

That's not surprising at all. I didn't think Young would be named the starter right away especially with Volek there who, as you said, is a decent quarterback.

Broncos lost their first preseason game of the year, but the positives are Jay Cutler looked awesome (16/22 for almost 200 yards), and this new guy who apparently was working at a subway before the season caught 72 yards and a TD

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- New Orleans quarterback Adrian McPherson went to the locker room early in the third quarter after a golf cart ridden by the Titans' mascot hit him at the end of halftime Saturday night.

I couldn't help but laugh at this.

Tony Romo has had a very nice game starting for the Cowboys tonight.

Unfortunately TO is still out, Glenn has been out since the 1st quarter with an ice pack on his foot, and Crayton sprained his ankle (the same one he broke last year, no less :(). Sam Hurd has look pretty good, though he's dropped atleast 2 passes. The best think for the offense is that we haven't given up a sack all night. Greg Ellis also looked pretty nice tonight at the LOLB spot.

If Ellis can adapt to the OLB spot in the 3-4, I think he and Ware will put some hurting on the QB's across the league.

Junior Glymph has actually looked really good tonight as well. He's had 2 sacks and 2FF's that I've caught. Ellis did a much better job than I was expecting against the pass and when covering the QB when he rolled out of the pocket. I think the move will work pretty good, but our LB's are pretty stacked right now. Ellis, James, Shanle, and Ware got the start but we've also got Carpenter, Ayodele, Singleton, and Burnett as well. I really don't care about the offense, this defense is getting me jacked up already.
