On the bright side, the Cubs are #5 in MLB in defensive efficiency, ahead of the #6 White Sox.

We finished last year at #13.

Hendry's offseason magic did improve the defense.

YESSS! Gotta start somewhere. Way to go Hendry...

In fact, our defense has improved every year since 2003. If we give Hendry 30 more years, he'll put together a defense so good that we'll shut out our opponents every game.

I just got in. How did we screw up?

We were up 3-1, 2 outs none on in the bottom of the 5th, Cedeno short hops a throw to walker resulting in an IF hit (that should have been an error), and carnage ensues, the Marlins scored 5 times.

So I take it everyone will be blaming this loss on Cedeno, huh?

I don't blame him for giving up a triple, double, and 3-run homer. It was a tough play as is with Ramirez running down the line. Should have been an error though.

At this point, I am willing to endure whatever I have to endure to see some significant change made. As if being swept by the Marlins shouldn't be enough, but I have a feeling this futility is going to have to become epic before something happens.

Pierre K's to end the inning. Seriously, how much more do we have to see him in the leadoff spot?

Our bullpen is better this year, so Hendry has done something. Too bad he forgot about starting pitching and a batting lineup. Hendry always comes up short in some areas when he builds a team

If this isn't epic I don't know what is.

Yeah, they can catch the ball. Now if only they could figure out how to defend walks (last in the NL) and home runs (2nd to last in NL), they'd be on on to something.

This whole thing has gone beyond the point where pointing fingers at anyone not named Hendry, Baker and MacPhail is just pointless.

Obviously a team with a $100 million payroll getting swept by a team with a $15 million dollar payroll is ridiculous, but I suppose we'll hear the excuse that $20 mil or so isn't playing. So it's okay.

This is just the Titanic hitting the iceberg. Wait till the ship splits in two!

We aren't even in last place in the NL Central yet. We have to wait for the Pirates to pass us before this becomes epic.

Any chance, with an off day tomorrow and after getting swept by the Marlins that Dusty gets canned? He has received a strong vote of confidence lately. TIME FOR A CHANGE, even if it isn't all his fault.

Is Juan Pierre really this bad? I mean he said he was embarrased by last year? I'll take last year in a heartbeat!
