Among qualified batters, Pierre has the lowest OBP of any leadoff hitter in baseball. By 35 points.

How about OBP among all players that have started every game in the season?

I dunno about that - it would be hard to check on since different teams have played different numbers of games thus far, but I can tell you this:

Pierre's OBP in the leadoff spot is the worst among qualified batters in MLB.

Cedeno's OBP in the #2 spot is second worst among batters with 75 AB or more at that position in the order.

Our OBP in the 1 and 2 spots in the order is actually worse so far this year than it was in 2005, when we had that fabulous 1-2 punch of Patterson and Perez.

hilarious.

But, but, but we haven't been dealing with a full deck, it's the injuries!!

No, the guys in the heart of the order haven't been driving in the guys at the top of the order when they don't get on base.

Barrett = FIRE! and INTENSITY!

The last few outings notwithstanding, Methinks Maddux would still be a great pitching coach.

I dunno, sometimes the greats don't make good coaches. Frequently they rely too much on 'stuff' or an intuitive sense of the game which could be difficult to explain to young pitchers.

....And Rock Bottom still hasn't been reached. I can't believe we are going to be swept by the Marlins...

I can't wait to hear Dusty after the game.

"Dude, we've got an off day tomorrow, thats really what we need right now. "

"The Marlins are a scrappy team, make no mistake, they've got some good hitters over there."

"We're not going to panic, we've just gotta stop walking guys. Walking guys leads to runs.........and we've gotta keep being aggressive at the plate, start knocking those runs in"

Honestly, I totally saw this coming. And in a weird way I'm starting ot enjoy the losses because I feel that is the only way changes will be made.

Wow. Maddux is pissed. Just took a bat to a water cooler. :shock:

Did you see O'Neal get soaked and not even flinch! That was the most entertaining thing I've seen from the cubs in weeks.
