Neifi would be a good lead-off hitter for a women's fast-pitch softball team. He can slap it with the best of them.

No, that would be Pierre, he even throws the ball like a, ok, no I won't do that, a four year old.

Pat Hughes says " and the Cubs settle for 3" - it would be better said " the cubs are astounded that they could get 3".

Neifi is just terrible. That's all there is to it. He swings even worse than Pierre and he swings at pitches that would take off someone's foot.

I'm just amazed how deep rock bottom is. We just keep on sinking...

I posted this at the end of yesterdays game thread, but here it is again.

If we lose today, we'll be 18-28. The exact same record as 2002 on the same date. Don Baylor was fired on July 5th, 2002.

Quote from 2002:

"We're terribly disappointed in our season. It was unexpected. We have to hire the right manager and make improvements personnel-wise." - Cubs General Manager Jim Hendry

What's the difference between Baker and Baylor?

The CUBS paid him 5 million over two years...remember he saved us last year.

Cabrera walked

Don't worry. He has no speed.

As Hawk Harrelson would say, getting on base isn't important. It's what you do when you get on base that's important.

Therefore:

Pierre > Cabrera

Wow. Just wow. Amazing how history repeats itself. Well, maybe not in Hendry's eyes.

Quote from 2006 from one of Bruce's articles:

“Under the circumstances we’re in and with the people out there, I think it’s unfair to be critical of the manager over what’s happened the last couple weeks, Hendry said. “Dusty and (my) conversations, obviously, should remain private. And he understands that the process, how I’m going to do it, and he doesn’t have an issue with it. If he doesn’t have an issue with it now, I don’t see why anybody else would.

“When you’ve gotten beat the way we have the last couple weeks, I don’t think it’s something (where) you want to lump all the blame on the manager.”
