Dont look now, but his numbers are just obscene this year. Last year is a distant memory. If he keeps this up, he may live through the Big Apple experience in one piece.

9 HRs 23 RBIs .263/.405/.596/1.001 with 25 BBs and 5 SBs in 99 ABs. 24 runs in 27 games just by himself. And a 9.07 RC27. Wow.

1 error and 2 assists in 224 innings in the field.

Ya, i am soooo happy Hendry didnt get him. :x

My understanding is that he was hurt last year, which led to the nos. he put up. I am not surprised to see him playing better. He'll never be a 40 HR guy, but I wouldn't mind seeing his .400 OBP and 25 ding-dongs in our OF in place of Pierre's sub-.300 OBP.

You could put Thome in there as well, except then we wouldn't have gotten Lee.

He better not miss the chance to grab Carlos Lee this off season, or I will go nuts.

I'm so glad he's on my fantasy team. My outfield has me in tears right now: Carlos Lee, Phillip Burrell and Carlos Beltran.

They laughed at me before.

Look whos laughing now.

Can I laugh at you for Phillip Burrell?

He's doing alright.

Did you see that barehanded play he made in left field to totally save a game?

Yea...I kinda wish defense actually mattered in fantasy.

Since when was:

Season Total 123 18 34 4 0 10 28 23 30 0 0 .276 .392 .553 .945

Bad?

OBP, Slugging, Homers, Steals and Runs are the only things that count for hitters in our league. (Strange, but our Commish really likes Moneyball and refuses to use common stats like RBI's and Batting Average, I prefer it this way anyway) He's more than suitable as a 3rd outfielder.

How about Jones, Burnitz and Sosa? You have to admit that Hendry has vision.

Beltran just hit another grand slam (his 3rd this month) for the Mets against the Braves. He now has 31 homers and 93 rbi's on the year.

Who needs Carlos Beltran? Especially, when you can send 3 arms to Florida for Juan Pierre.

He's on pace for 50/151 for the year along with a 1.000+ OPS. I really wanted the Cubs to trade for him in 2004 and try to sign him after that season and was extremely disappointed when they didn't. Even with his down year last year I figured he would bounce back. I didn't think he would put up numbers like he is doing this year though.

Make that 32 and 94 on the year.

There were a few reasons why Beltran should have been a Cub:

1. He killed the ball in Wrigley.

2. Wrigley is the perfect hitters park for him.

3. We had the cash.

4. We had the need.

But hey...I'm happy we kept CP for another year and the got Pierre. With franchise guys like that who needs a guy who plays above average D, and can absolutely mash the ball at a premium position?

It's shocking to me that Hendry hasn't gotten the props hes deserved the past couples years.
