Based on head size, the Cubs should win.

I guess.

Bonds is going to hit 714 today. I predicted it during today's game but I figured I should do it here as well. Z is going to challenge him and is going to make a mistake and Bonds will take him deep. I don't want it to happen but I think it will.

Zambrano needs to pitch AND hit a gem. Somebody has to. But then Pierre would come up and hit into the rarely seen quintuple play, a special occurance only witnessed with players SO fast that they can't slow down around the basepaths and are thrown out at each base.

Time to turn the clock back to 2001. That year the Cubs had an 8 game losing streak immediately followed by a 12 game winning streak. Tonight we completed the 8 game losing streak part; tomorrow it's time to start the 12 game winning streak.

Dear Chicago Cubs,

I really don't care if you lose this game but please just score some runs. Lose 11-10 for all I care, just hit the ball. Show that you can hit better than a Rookie Ball team. Let's just end this offensive futility. We can work on that winning thing another day. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Tonight's gamewill bethe best chance the Cubs will have to win for a while.

I still don't feel confident.

What is the longest losing streak by a team, and who set it?

I have only ever made one baseball prediction that came true...

That makes 2 pitchers who haven't pitched in at least 2 games, and 5 who have pitched in 1 or fewer games in the last 3 games. That's with SP performances of 4.1, 3.2, and 6 IP in those games. It's pretty much impossible to overwork a 7 man pen.

I'm done with positive predictions. Cubs lose this game 6-2. And the streak goes on and on and on and o.....

I'm still clinging to hope that they don't exceed 8 games lost in a row...that seems to have been their habit for losing streaks the last few years, but any more than that and I may lose my grip on my sanity.

Didn't they have an 8 game slide at pretty much exactly this time LAST year? If that means we have 2 more of these debacles to go through before season's end...Christ...
