The WGN Radio pregame show probably has two or three a week,.

I listen to the pre game show most every game and Ron Santo himself said durning a game that there is NO word on Prior, They have heard nothing about it. He is susposed to join the team today so we will probably hearing something tonight however

I'm sorry but Prior is a joke! What is the deal with him? Next the guy will stub his toe getting out of bed and be "shutdown" for a month. Get some balls and grow up you pampered baby!

Yes, I will say it ... should have traded him for Tejada or Abreu when we had the chance! He is the biggest waste of talent in the Major Leagues right now and it seems he plans to be for the future as well!

Should the a miracle occur allowing Prior and Wood to both make it back to rotation. What's the over-under on how many times they'll make it thru the rotation before "complications" arise?

Frankly, I'm tired of hearing when a player might be back. I don't want to know if Prior might make a start on a certain day. Wait a couple days and tell me the day before or day of that he's going to throw a simulated game. Tell me a couple days in advance, after his final simulated game, that he's going to make a minor league rehab start on a certain day. But I'm tired of hearing estimations on when a player will return a couple weeks in advance. I have no problems with estimating DLee being out 8-10 weeks, but don't set a specific date or couple dates for his return.

I'm not tired of it. It's exactly what they should be doing. They have an obligation to their customers to be as forthright as possible, and to be open and honest about injuries. You hear every other team talking about timelines. Sometimes they are met, sometimes they are not. The Cubs, in their pathetic pansy way take offense when they are called out on it, so they hide in their little shell and pretend nothing is behind the green curtain. It's a sad yet perfect depiction of the all-around ineptness of this organization.

Somebody refered earlier to the concept that the Cubs can do no right in this situation. I think that's exactly the point. They are a bunch of bumbling buffoons who can't figure out anything injury related. They can't figure out the one problem that has killed this team for years offensively. They can't figure out how to get pitchers to throw strikes. They can't figure out how to win ballgames. This front office has had a dozen years to get things right and they've failed miserably. They foolishly tried to become the next Braves, when they should have tried to be the next Marlins. If you put all your hopes on a couple arms, the odds are you will fail because arms are extremely unreliable. If they put an ounce of energy into the offense, and more than a minute of thought beyond the tools, it would be a lot easier to win games without absolutely perfect pitching.

If you were Prior, would YOU want to pitch with Baker handling you and this offense to back you up?

I don't blame him for being slow to get back... personally I hope he's told the front office he'll be sick until they fire Baker...

My own personal dream conspiracy ;)

Food poisoning? hahahaha. It just keeps getting better everyday.

I think Prior's nickname should be Tinkerbell. I love Mark, but he is just the biggest girl I've ever seen.

Why do people feel it necessary to constanty question Prior's manhood?

No one here knows how much pain he is in, or his workout regim, or how sick he was over the winter, or anything about his character.

I am as frustrated as anyone that he seems to be unable to pitch, but I believe if he were able to he'd be out there. This is the smae kid who threw 200+ innings in 2003 and the same one who didn't back down to Bonds.

I've had it with this whole situation. Now he has food poisoning? Seriously, what's next? Is he ever going to pitch this year? At this point I'm just hoping Woody and Miller come back. That way Marshall gets to stay in the rotation. If Prior pitches this year so be it. I'm not hopeful.

Raw oysters, sushi, and rare steaks are all staples of my diet, and I've never had food poisoning in my entire life. Where and what is Prior eating? Stay in the restroom for a couple of hours if needbe, but resume your daily work activities the next day, Mark.

I don't think he has the willingness to push himself through anything. I don't believe for a second that a strained shoulder and an illness in January should be enough to keep him out this long.

I wish we could go back in time and draft Tex. Prior is a very good talent, but he has to actually pitch in order to be of any use to this team.

I'm pretty frustrated myself, but food poisoning can be really debilitating. It's definitley not just a matter of being in the restroom for a few hours, believe me.

Maybe he pitched too much in 2002 and 2003 and we are seeing the after affects? I'm not saying it is so but as long as we can make wild speculation on what is ailing Prior this should not be out of bounds either. If the injury is beyond Prior's control, asking him to suck it up is like asking Derrek Lee to suck it up and play first.

But more to the point, what does it matter that he wasn't sitting on the bench last night? That's what seems to have everyone's painties in a bunch here.

Food poisoning is often a euphemism given by teams to cover-up a plethora of ailments.

I have to think the Cubs are getting pretty frustrated with Prior as well, which is why they've not really talked about his rehab much.

Kind of off topic a bit, but I was somewhat excited to see Wood and Miller in uniform and in the dugout. I know they aren't ready, but it was nice to see imo.

I personally don't care if he wasn't on the bench. It makes no difference to me. I'd rather he be getting ready to come back than sitting in the dugout.

I can see overuse in 2003 affecting 2004. I cannot see it having a 3 year effect, especially considering he's not pitched a lot since 2003. It's something else at this point.

Maybe after the debacle of the last injury, Prior asked the Cubs not to talk to the media about this one?
