Walker's pretty good over there at 1st.

Wouldn't a Walker GG be funnier than heck? (Not at the expense of Lee out, though.)

Yeah, because as I recall, Walker is absolutely brutal on defense. :eyeroll:

The GG is going to Pujols, whether it is deserved or not.

With DLee out, there's no doubt about it.

If Pujols wins the Triple Crown, he'll win the GG, even if he leads the NL in errors, the voters will site his "incredible range".

This outing by Gooz really makes me appreciate what Marshall has done thus far.

:?:

Maybe premature, but Marshall has shown excellent poise. His outing last night impressed the hell outta me. I think it's safe to say that Gooz was rattled in his first start against a weak hitting club. His defense saved him twice.

Angel is hitting for himself?????

Blanco popped out (foul) to the catcher

On a 3-0 count no less. Who in the heck told him he had a green light to swing???

I'm not sure I like pushing Guzman to 100+ pitches in his major league debut. With the off day tomorrow, why not use the bullpen instead?

He has no competition this year. Helton is also on the shelf for a while.

Looks like Gooz is gonna go 1 more inning.

He better not. Not only do you risk the game, but you risk the kid's arm again....87 pitches is not a bunch, but these have all been high adrenaline, high intensity pitches.

I don't get it either.

No sense whatsoever.

Barrett is unavailable and Mabry will be the last bat off the bench since he's the emergency catcher. Letting Guzman bat here is the right move whether he's being taken out or not.

He might be batting for himself like Dusty does with Carlos sometimes before he comes out. I would be surprised to see him out for the 6th.

I hate when Dusty does that. Why let the pitcher hit if you're going to take him out before the start of the inning.

Edit: Forgot there was a short bench with Barrett day to day.
